Cedar's RV Park

RV park, Campground ★3.0

Needed an emergency spot for the night and tried to get in here. No one available on site or phone. Answering services were full on the phone so couldn't leave a message. Drove our tow through to at least check it out. Very tight quarters that would have been an issue with our class A motorhome to have driven through. Most trailers look like they have been there a very, very long time (run down and unkept) and I wondered if some could even be moved as cedar trees were growing big around them. I would be hard pressed to find a reason to stay here on any traveling. They take their pets across the street and don't clean up behind them. - Susan Shaw

Cedar's RV Park Introduce

Welcome to an overview of **Cedar's RV Park**, a smaller, privately-owned RV park and campground situated in Kelso, Washington. Located in Cowlitz County, this community is primarily known for accommodating extended-stay and long-term residents in their RVs, offering a more permanent base for those working or living in the Kelso/Longview area or enjoying the Pacific Northwest for a season. Unlike high-turnover recreational resorts, Cedar's RV Park is structured to provide a quieter, more residential feel, often appealing to individuals and families who appreciate a stable location with convenient vehicle access. The park is nestled in a natural, forest-like setting, providing a measure of privacy and seclusion that can be a welcome change from urban living, while still being highly accessible.

For Washington residents and travelers seeking a fixed location for their RV, understanding the focus of the community is crucial. Public records indicate the park has a limited number of spaces (approximately 25 units) which, combined with a history of having long-term tenants, suggests a focused, smaller community feel. While daily and weekly camping may be available, the emphasis appears to be on providing affordable, settled housing options. Potential residents should be aware that, as with any long-term RV living situation, managing utility payments, understanding the specific rules regarding the age and condition of RVs, and maintaining a positive relationship with management are essential for a pleasant stay.

Location and Accessibility

Cedar's RV Park is located at **115 Beauvais Rd, Kelso, WA 98626, USA**. This address places the park in a convenient area of Kelso, a city known for its prime location along the I-5 corridor in Southwest Washington. The park's position offers residents a quick and easy connection to Interstate 5, which is vital for both commuters and recreational travelers. This accessibility makes it a practical base for individuals working in Kelso, Longview, or even those commuting to areas north toward Olympia or south toward Portland, Oregon.

The surrounding area offers a balance of nature and necessity. While the park itself is described as having a private, forest-like atmosphere, it is within close driving range of Kelso and Longview's commercial and retail centers. Residents can quickly access major grocery stores, dining options, and essential services in the nearby downtown areas. Furthermore, its location serves as a gateway to the spectacular natural attractions of Washington State, including the world-famous Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, which is a key recreational highlight for anyone living in the Cowlitz County region. The location on Beauvais Road allows for a secluded residential environment without sacrificing connectivity to the greater Washington transportation and commerce network.

Services Offered

As a functional RV park designed to support long-term stays, Cedar's RV Park provides the foundational services necessary for comfortable, fixed-location RV living. Based on general RV park standards and public information, the core services offered at the park typically include:

  • **Full Utility Hookups:** Essential for long-term RV residency, sites generally include hookups for electric (typically 30/50 amp), water, and sewer services. Specific arrangements for utility billing (e.g., direct metering or flat rate) should be confirmed with park management.
  • **On-Site Parking:** Dedicated on-site parking is provided for resident vehicles alongside their RV unit.
  • **Laundry Facilities:** A crucial amenity for extended-stay residents, on-site coin laundry facilities are commonly offered to reduce the need for off-site trips.
  • **Shower and Restroom Facilities:** Clean, maintained bathhouse facilities with showers are available for residents, which is especially useful for those with older RVs or for general convenience.
  • **Lot Rental:** The primary service involves the monthly or long-term rental of the RV lot, which includes the provision of basic grounds maintenance for common areas.
  • **Storage Options:** Information suggests the park has on-site storage available, which could include options for extra vehicles, boats, or general household items, a definite plus for residents in a small space.

Features / Highlights

The unique features of Cedar's RV Park highlight its focus on the residential experience rather than a temporary vacation spot. The key characteristics that make this park stand out for long-term residents in Kelso, Washington, include:

  • **Quiet, Secluded Setting:** The park's "private feel with a forest like setting" offers a serene living environment, separating residents from the noise of the main interstate and commercial areas.
  • **Focus on Long-Term Tenancy:** With a small unit count and a reported history of long-term tenants and even a waiting list, the park is clearly a desirable option for permanent or extended RV living, fostering a stable neighborhood.
  • **Private Ownership Structure:** Public records indicate the property has included a large house for the owner/manager, suggesting a dedicated, on-site presence for operations and immediate attention to park matters.
  • **Proximity to Employment:** Its location in Kelso offers a straightforward commute to the job centers of Cowlitz County, making it a functional choice for employed individuals.
  • **Basic Essential Amenities:** The inclusion of laundry, showers, and potential storage ensures that all fundamental needs for comfortable long-term residence are met within the property boundaries.

It is important to note that due to the park’s apparent high occupancy with long-term residents, availability may be limited. What is Worth Choosing

Choosing Cedar's RV Park is a decision for those in Washington State prioritizing a **stable, affordable, and secluded long-term RV residence**. What makes this park particularly worth choosing is its specific niche in the Kelso market: it serves as an excellent option for long-term renters who seek the financial flexibility of RV living without the constant movement of a vacation campground. The park’s smaller size and "forest-like setting" create a unique, private atmosphere that can feel much more like a permanent home than a roadside stop. This stability is highly valued by individuals and families looking for consistency in their living situation while working in the Cowlitz County area.

For long-term residents, the inclusion of essential on-site services like laundry and full utility hookups simplifies daily life significantly. While the park is clearly older, as suggested by its history, the established nature of the community means its position and infrastructure are settled. Any prospective resident must perform due diligence by speaking with management to fully understand all current operational procedures, particularly regarding utility charges and bookkeeping practices, to ensure a transparent and problem-free residency. Ultimately, Cedar's RV Park offers a compelling, budget-conscious housing solution in a convenient, well-connected part of Southwest Washington, providing a rare opportunity for stable, long-term RV life close to both natural attractions and urban employment centers.
