Carlton RV Park Introduce
The Carlton RV Park, located in the picturesque Methow Valley of Washington State, is a beloved spot for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. Tucked just off Highway 153 in the quaint town of Carlton, this park is praised by visitors for its welcoming atmosphere, great value, and essential amenities. It manages to offer a surprisingly quiet environment despite its roadside location, thanks to a thoughtful setting among large aspens, maples, willows, and evergreen trees that create a cool and peaceful setting.
Unlike large, impersonal campgrounds, Carlton RV Park offers a more intimate experience with only 12 full hookup sites. This smaller scale allows the managers to provide genuine, friendly service that often leaves guests feeling "touched and loved and cured," as one reviewer put it—a true testament to the warm hospitality. Guests have consistently highlighted the kindness of the management, who have been known to accommodate late arrivals, such as those traveling the Washington Backwoods Discovery Route, and allow them to register in the morning.
The park serves as an excellent home base for exploring the diverse recreation offered by the Methow River and the wider Methow Valley. From world-class fly fishing and thrilling river tubing to hiking and exploring the nearby towns of Twisp and Winthrop, the park places Washingtonians right in the middle of a stunning natural playground. It represents a practical and cozy choice for a memorable stay in this beautiful corner of the Pacific Northwest.
Carlton RV Park is ideally positioned at 2252 WA-153, Carlton, WA 98814, USA. This address places it directly on the main highway that leads north through the Methow Valley toward popular destinations like Twisp and Winthrop. For those traveling from the south via Highway 97, the turn-off at Pateros onto Highway 153 leads directly to the park after about 23 miles, right after crossing the Methow River Bridge.
The park is highly accessible, featuring two convenient entrances and exits that make it easy for RVs of all sizes to navigate. While it is located just beside the road, the natural screening and park layout help mitigate road noise, maintaining a surprisingly quiet atmosphere. Most importantly, the location offers immediate access to the Methow River, which is literally across Highway 153 from the park, providing stunning views and easy water access. This proximity to the river's swimming hole and bank is a major draw. The park is generally open seasonally, from approximately April 1 to October 31.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- It’s such a lovely nice place :everything is awesome, its just beside the road but it’s quiet enough in the park ; with the lawn , the hardening road in the park , power, water , shower , WiFi… beside across the road you may feel and enjoy the water , the view is amazing. The manager is so kind and friendly that you really feel at home . Last but not the least the price is also quite good. If you’ve chance to stay here you’re touched and loved and cured . - We were doing the WA Backwoods Discovery Route, and found the leg from Chelan was closed due to fires. It was late and we needed a place to sleep for the night. We called at 930PM and they invited us into the park letting us square up and register in the morning when everyone was awake. The hosts were great, and the bathrooms were clean and private, including a shower. We plan to make this our regular stop on the way through this part of the country. September 06 · Todd Brennan
- We stayed here while in town for the Winthrop Hot Air balloon festival and it was a great idea being not too far away from the hustle and bustle of the small town festival but just far enough away to enjoy the great outdoors in peace without crowds. The RV park host/owners are the absolute sweetest and very welcoming and helpful. Our neighbors were so sweet helping us with a spot light when we arrived after dark. It’s right across the street from a beautiful river that people call the swimming hole. The only thing I didn’t like about the rv park was all of the mud, but I’m sure come summer that’s not a problem. With all of the snow melting it made it really muddy but I won’t take a star off for something they have no control over. We were in spot #10 which was a great spot for a quick in and out. Would come back again and highly recommend! March 07 · Gemsofthewild
- We love this place! It's beautiful, and small without feeling overly crowded. Beautiful shade trees are throughout the parks area, and a swimming hole just right across the road makes this an awesome place to stay. The park managers are always friendly, fun, and willing to help out. Thumbs up Carlton RV!!👍👍 August 21 · Robin Graham
- Love the park and the people here. The spaces are a little close but very private . We have 3 big dogs and plenty of space for them. Right across from the river and right next to a pot shop. WiFi works better than in town. No cable hook ups but out here I have not missed it. Love the place. May 13 · jason scharf
