Camp Elim RV Park & Campground Reviews
Welcoming place to stay a while. I pulled in at about 9pm. The campground crew came out to greet us. Offered to help set up and made sure we were good to go. I would recommend this campground to anyone!
Jun 05, 2025 · Marshall PetersonA Hidden Gem That Became Home – Our Five-Month Stay at Camp Elim RV ParkWhen my wife, our toddler, and I pulled into Camp Elim RV Park in Newburg, Missouri, we thought we were just finding a place to stay for a while. What we ended up finding was so much more—a peaceful haven, incredible owners, and a place that felt like home during a season of our lives we’ll never forget. We stayed at Camp Elim for five months, through warm fall days and into the heart of winter. I was going through Army training at Fort Leonard Wood during this time, and Camp Elim’s location could not have been more perfect. It’s exactly 15 minutes from the MSCoE building—close enough to get to base quickly, but far enough to come home to true peace and quiet every evening. From the very first day to the very last, we were treated with more kindness and care than we ever expected. The Owners: The Heart of Camp ElimWhat truly sets Camp Elim apart is the people who run it. The owners are not only incredibly responsive, but they are also genuinely kind, thoughtful, and present. It wasn’t just business—it was personal. They took time to talk with us, helped us with anything we needed, and checked in regularly just to make sure we were doing okay.We had dinners and lunches with them, and some of the best moments of our stay were the simple ones—bumping into them in the park and having good, easy conversations that made us feel connected. They never had to go as far as they did to make sure we were taken care of, but they did it anyway. You don’t forget people like that. The Pond, the Trail, and a Toddler’s DelightOur toddler absolutely loved the pond. Not a day went by that she didn’t want to walk down there, grab a handful of rocks, and toss them in just to watch the ripples. The joy she got from something that simple reminded us to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us.The trail around the pond and stretching into the back of the park quickly became our daily ritual. It’s a peaceful, quiet walk through trees and gentle terrain—perfect for a little one’s curiosity. She played with sticks and bugs, chased leaves, and waved at our neighbors. Every part of that trail holds memories now.Snow Days and Simple JoysOne of our favorite stretches during our time there came when we got snowed in. Everything was covered in white, and instead of stress or worry, there was calm. We were safe. We were warm. And the owners were there—checking in, helping out, making sure every guest was okay.Community Without PressureThere’s a gentle rhythm to life at Camp Elim. You have neighbors, but there’s no noise or crowd. Just kind people here and there, everyone respectful, and every now and then a wave or a quick hello that made us feel like part of a small, quiet community. Our daughter loved the occasional visit with a neighbor, and we appreciated the balance of connection and privacy.Well-Maintained, Peaceful, and Easy to LoveThe park is clean, well taken care of, and tucked just far enough off the highway that you feel like you’ve truly escaped. The hookups worked perfectly the whole time we were there. Everything is as it should be—reliable, peaceful, and designed with care. There’s not a lot of flash here—and that’s part of what makes it special. It’s real, honest hospitality in a beautiful, quiet setting. The kind of place you settle into without even realizing it. The kind of place you don’t want to leave.⸻If you’re stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and want a calm, family-friendly place to call home during training—this is it.If you’re just passing through, stay a night. If you’re looking for something longer-term, stay as long as you can.But no matter what, make time for Camp Elim.Because sometimes, a place shows up in your life just when you need it.And if you’re lucky like we were, you’ll find out it’s more than an RV park—it’s a place that takes care of you.Thank you, Camp Elim. You’ll always be part of our story.— The Goins Family
Apr 04, 2025 · Sheldon GoinsA Haven of Kindness and GenerosityMy family and I recently had the privilege of staying at this remarkable RV park, and I can’t emphasize enough how extraordinary our experience was. From the moment we reached out to the owner, Tom, we knew we were in good hands.A Lifesaving Gesture: Despite not being officially open yet, Tom’s compassion shone through. When we called, desperate and stranded less than a mile away due to an RV breakdown, he welcomed us with open arms. His invitation to stay was a lifeline during our emergency.A Safe Harbor: The comfort we found here was immeasurable. Having a secure place to deal with our RV’s mechanical issues was a relief beyond words. Tom’s willingness to accommodate us during this challenging time made all the difference.Chickens and Grass: As we traveled to our new home, our feathered companions—our beloved chickens—were with us. Tom and his family not only allowed them but also went the extra mile. Our chickens reveled in the grass, soaking up the sun and fresh air. It’s rare to find hosts who treat both humans and their feathered friends with such care.A Lovely Family: When Tom and his family stopped by to meet us, we felt like old friends. Their warmth and genuine interest in our journey touched our hearts. It’s not every day that you encounter people who embody kindness and hospitality so effortlessly.Peace by the Pond: Standing by the serene pond at the back of the park, we found solace. The gentle rustling of leaves, the reflection of the sky on the water—it was a place where worries melted away. Tom’s creation of this peaceful oasis is a testament to his commitment to providing more than just a place to park an RV.In summary, Tom and his family’s generosity will forever be etched in our memories. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them for turning what could have been a stressful situation into a heartwarming experience. If you’re seeking not just an RV park but a haven of kindness, look no further.Thank you, Tom, for being a beacon of compassion and goodwill. We’ll carry this memory with us as we continue our journey.
Apr 29, 2024 · Joyce PillowWe had an axle lose a wheel bearing which took out one of our tires. The next day, our spare tire blew and we had nowhere to go. RV NIGHTMARE!!!Luckily, we saw the campground on the map 5 miles away and we limped our camper there on three wheels escorted by the Highway Patrol. We called the management and they were extremely kind and helpful. They allowed us to keep the camper there overnight while we drove into Springfield to get a replacement tire.We are greatful for their kindness and hope anyone in the area needing a clean place to camp with full hookups and really nice grassy areas will stop in.The McGuires
Jun 18, 2025 · Marc McGuireWe are here for a few months while my husband completes a training for the Army and our time has been very welcoming thanks to the amazing family who runs Camp Elim RV Park.Aside from the nice, quiet area and great hospitality, the owners will drop what they’re doing to help their guests. A winter storm hit over the last few days and as we prepared the best we could, the area lost power. The electric companies working hard to return power to the area — Employees of Camp Elim were here at the park, unfreezing hoses and making sure everyone at the park were warm, had propane and running water.Great family who runs the park and great place for a stay, whether it be a day or two or a few months!
