For those seeking an authentic and sometimes unconventional stay in the heart of Acadiana, Betty's RV Park presents a memorable option.
Betty's RV Park is known for its proprietor, Betty herself, who many guests describe as a "wonderful host" who "quickly feels like a favorite aunt." This personal connection is a defining characteristic of the park, setting it apart from more traditional campgrounds. While some aspects of the park's layout and amenities may lead to varied opinions, the warmth and willingness of Betty to share her "knowledge about area attractions" are consistently highlighted by those who appreciate a more personal interaction during their travels. The park aims to provide a convenient base for exploring this captivating region, offering a down-to-earth approach to RV living. While it may not cater to every preference, particularly those accustomed to spacious, resort-style facilities, it undeniably offers an authentic and often celebrated local experience. Betty's RV Park is conveniently located at 2118 S State St, Abbeville, LA 70510, USA. This address places the park within Abbeville, a city renowned for its historical significance and vibrant Cajun culture in Vermilion Parish. The location on S State Street ensures relatively straightforward access for RVs, though guests should be prepared for what some describe as a more integrated urban setting rather than a secluded rural campground.
Being situated in Abbeville means that guests at Betty's RV Park have easy access to the city's charming downtown area, local eateries, and community events. Abbeville is a central point for exploring the wider Acadiana region, with its distinctive blend of French, Spanish, and Native American influences. Major roadways connecting Abbeville to larger cities like Lafayette are within a reasonable driving distance, allowing for convenient day trips to explore more extensive shopping, entertainment, and healthcare facilities.
While the park is located on S State Street, which some reviews note as being "next to the busy loud street," its urban integration can also be seen as a convenience for those who prioritize proximity to town amenities over absolute tranquility. Navigating to 2118 S State St is generally straightforward with GPS, making arrival at Betty's RV Park a simple process for those familiar with city driving in an RV.
The accessibility allows guests to easily immerse themselves in the local flavor of Abbeville, from enjoying authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine to experiencing live music and historical sites. While the immediate surroundings might differ from a sprawling wilderness campground, the park's placement ensures that the heart of Abbeville is always within reach, offering a unique blend of urban convenience and local charm for RVers exploring Southwest Louisiana.

Water Hookups: Essential water hookups are provided at each site, ensuring access to fresh water for RV needs. However, specific details regarding water pressure or availability are not consistently highlighted, and one review mentions potential issues with "water & sewer."
Sewer Hookups: Sites are equipped with sewer connections for convenient waste disposal, although a review noted a concern about the "water & sewer" system, implying that guests should verify specifics upon arrival or inquiry.
Electrical Hookups: Standard electrical hookups are available at the sites to power RVs, which is a fundamental offering for any RV park.
Limited Wi-Fi Access: While the site "SAYS free wifi," it's noted by a customer that this is "only if you go to the pavilion (aka her back porch) & you MIGHT catch a signal!" This indicates a very limited and potentially unreliable Wi-Fi service, suggesting guests should have alternative internet access plans.

This makes it an ideal base for experiencing the local Cajun culture, cuisine, and charm without extensive travel.

Intimate Setting: The park offers a more intimate and less commercialized atmosphere compared to larger RV resorts. For those who prefer a smaller, more personal camping experience, this can be a significant draw.

Betty's RV Park Reviews
This place is 1 of the worst! This lady has literally turned her yard into a "campground". The spaces are only big enough to put your camper in & you CAN'T stay hooked up. There's NO parking except infront of your rv. Supposedly there's 17 spots & she put us right next to the busy loud street knowing we have a toddler & puppy when there was literally only 1 other person here. Her site SAYS free wifi, but that's only if you go to the pavilion (aka her back porch) & you MIGHT catch a signal! OH! & don't get me started on the water & sewer! If there had been anywhere else with an open affordable spot we wouldn't have stayed!

Nov 09, 2023 · Catherine EdwardsBetty’s RV Park is the best! It is a small park full of Southern Louisiana hospitality and charm. You arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend. Betty makes you feel like family. We especially enjoyed the 4:30 pm happy hours where we meet our neighbors. We will definitely return and plan on letting our friends know this is one stop you definitely need to experience.
Jan 24, 2023 · LindaWe are Canadians that have been traveling Canada and the US for 7 months so far. Betty’s RV Park in Louisiana is the one campground that we hope to return to someday! After only 3 nights, we were drawn into Betty’s “web”! So much fun! Amazing hospitality! Some of the nicest people we’ve ever met ❤️
Mar 03, 2023 · Brenda KingLoved Betty's. Everyone so friendly. Great place to stay if you love to let the good times roll. The spaces are tight, but the friendliness of Betty and the guests make up for that. The whole park celebrated my birthday, I even got a birthday card signed from everyone. There was even a St. Patrick's Day dinner which we all celebrated in good Irish fashion. This is a great place for us retirees who want to kick up their heels.
