Ashley Creek RV Park provides fundamental services designed to make an RVer's stay comfortable, with particular highlights on specific aspects of its facilities and management. While a comprehensive list of every minute service isn't available, reviews shed light on key provisions:
- Full Hookups (Implied): While not explicitly stated for Ashley Creek in the provided reviews, the standard expectation for RV parks is to offer full hookups (electric, water, sewer) at sites. This is a crucial service for RV travelers. It's recommended to confirm amperage and specific hookup availability upon booking.
- Bathhouse Facilities: The park features a "clean bath house," which is a highly valued amenity for many RVers. This indicates accessible and maintained restrooms and showers for guest use.
- Short-Term Spots: The park offers "short spots," suggesting suitability for shorter stays or for those with smaller RVs, alongside other site sizes.
- First-Come, First-Serve Options: The availability of "first come, first serve" spots provides flexibility for travelers who prefer not to make advance reservations. It's always wise to call ahead, especially during peak seasons, to confirm availability.
- Mail and Package Reception: Guests "can get mail and packages," which is a significant convenience, particularly for long-term stays or full-time RVers who rely on mail services.
- Cash or Check Payments: The park operates on a "Cash or check" payment basis. This is an important detail for prospective guests to note for financial planning.
- On-site Manager (Ralph): Ralph, the park manager, is specifically highlighted as "very nice," indicating friendly and helpful on-site management. This personal touch can greatly enhance the guest experience, offering assistance with issues or local recommendations.
While one review mentions a concerning issue regarding cleanliness ("nasty, and the showers are never cleaned") and septic problems, another directly contradicts this with "clean bath house." This discrepancy highlights the importance of individual experience and possibly recent improvements or variations between facilities within the park. It is advisable for prospective guests to inquire about these specific concerns directly.
Ashley Creek RV Park offers several key features and highlights that contribute to its unique appeal for RVers in the North Carolina mountains. These attributes, drawn from various guest perspectives, paint a picture of a park with both strengths and areas where prospective visitors should be informed.
- Quiet Atmosphere: The park is consistently described as "Quiet," making it an attractive option for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from highway noise and urban bustle. This tranquility is a significant draw for relaxation.
- Clean Bath House (Contradictory Review): One review specifically praises a "clean bath house," which is a highly valued amenity for RVers, suggesting that at least some facilities are well-maintained. However, another review starkly contrasts this, stating the "place is nasty, and the showers are never cleaned," indicating a potential inconsistency or a recent change in conditions. Visitors should verify this directly.
- Scenic Natural Setting: The presence of a "small babbling brook along the backside" enhances the natural ambiance of the park, offering a soothing sound and a pleasant natural feature. This connection to nature is often a primary reason RVers choose specific locations.
- Friendly Management: Ralph, the park manager, is highlighted as "very nice," pointing to a positive and welcoming interaction with park staff. This personal touch can greatly improve the overall guest experience.
- Proximity to Asheville: The park's location offers "Very convenient to Asheville city" access, allowing guests to easily explore the city's unique cultural attractions, dining, and breweries while returning to a quieter setting.
- Wildlife Potential: The mention of "Obviously, bears. Haven't seen any yet," indicates that the park is situated in an area with active wildlife, which can be an exciting feature for nature lovers, though it also implies a need for proper food storage and awareness.
- Lenient Dog Policy: The park is described as "Lenient with dogs," which can be a significant highlight for RVers traveling with pets. However, the accompanying caution that "That's kind of a problem. Ours has been attacked in other RV parks" suggests that while pets are welcome, vigilance and responsible pet ownership are crucial within the community.
These features, while subject to individual interpretation and potential changes over time, provide a snapshot of what makes Ashley Creek RV Park distinct for those considering a stay in the Asheville area.

Apr 28, 2024 · Salvatore SantanielloIf your looking to get high, then this is the place. This is one of those places, that Jeff Foxworthy talks about. “If you own a home, with several wheels on it and cars without... Or if you have to go outside, to get something outta the fridge…you might be a redneck. For real though, if you have any self respect, avoid this place; it’s creepy.
Jul 06, 2024 · Priscilla HortonThe worst rv park. Stay away, residents are loud, foul mouthed drunks. Lighting off Roman candles at 9:30pm on a Wednesday night - NOT a holiday. The washed out road into the place is up a steep hill. Stay Away!
Jun 13, 2024 · Brian kralovecWe intended to stay, then changed our minds after spending over an hour trying to back in our RV into a tight spot with hookups in the back instead of on the side.Pros:* Ralph, the owner, is very patient.* The guests were helpful in our situation.* There were children riding bikes throughout the property, so it seemed family friendly, despite reviews saying otherwise.* $35/night for full hookups!Cons:* Only cash/checks accepted* No reservations. First come, first served* The spots are all back in, tight fitting, only a few feet between neighbors.* Some guests are using the outdoors as storage. Think furniture, vacuum cleaners, paint thinner, etc.FYI:* Google maps led us on the wrong road. We didn't get cell service until we turned around and drove to an area with cell service to call the office to ask for better directions.* Some guests were smoking the entire time we were there. If you have allergies to second hand smoke, this info might be helpful to you.
