This article will delve into what makes Antique Village RV Park a hidden gem for those seeking a more relaxed and natural camping experience in Louisiana. From its serene location to its straightforward services and undeniable charm, you’ll discover why many visitors, just like you, keep coming back to this welcoming spot.
The appeal of Antique Village RV Park begins with its location, which strikes a delightful balance between being accessible and providing a true sense of peaceful seclusion. Nestled at 3027 Martha St, Simsboro, LA 71275, USA, the park is situated in a "woody area" that immediately conveys a sense of natural tranquility. This abundance of "a lot of trees" not only offers welcome shade but also contributes significantly to the park's quiet ambiance, creating a natural buffer from the outside world.
While some external sounds are inevitable, visitors consistently highlight the park's overall quietness, noting that you "can hear some traffic now & then but isn't loud." This means you can enjoy the serenity of a natural setting without feeling completely cut off. For those traversing Louisiana, Simsboro offers a convenient stop, allowing easy access without the need to navigate through dense urban traffic. The park's rural setting provides a genuine escape from the hustle and bustle, allowing you to truly unwind after a day of travel or exploration. The simple, "reddish dirt gravel roads in park" further enhance its rustic charm, signaling that you've arrived at a place where nature takes precedence over paved perfection. This grounded feel is often precisely what RVers seek when looking to disconnect and relax.
Antique Village RV Park prides itself on offering essential, well-functioning services without the need for excessive frills. The park's philosophy is clearly to provide a comfortable and reliable base, ensuring that your core needs as an RVer are met efficiently. This approach allows them to maintain a good value for your stay while still delivering on the critical components of an RV park:
- Functional Hookups: Reviews confirm that "the hook ups worked properly," which is paramount for any RV park. This includes reliable access to electricity, water, and sewer connections, ensuring your RV functions smoothly throughout your stay.
- Spacious Sites: While not explicitly detailed, the mention of "decent space away from the highway" implies that sites offer adequate room for your rig, allowing for comfortable parking and a sense of personal space, contributing to the quiet atmosphere.
- Easy Late Check-in: A significant convenience for travelers on flexible schedules, the staff made it "super easy to check in late." This flexibility is invaluable for those arriving after hours or facing unexpected travel delays.
- Quiet Surroundings: The primary service, in essence, is the delivery of a remarkably "very quiet" environment. This allows for restful nights and peaceful days, a key factor for many RVers choosing a park.
- Affordable Cost: Visitors appreciate that the "cost to stay here is good," highlighting the park's commitment to providing excellent value for money, especially given the quality of the quiet and well-located sites.
While Antique Village RV Park might not boast an extensive list of traditional resort-style amenities, its true highlights lie in its natural attributes and the unique atmosphere it cultivates. These features are precisely what draw in those seeking a more authentic and tranquil RV experience:
- Wooded and Natural Environment: The park is characterized by a "woody area" with "a lot of trees," providing a natural, shaded, and aesthetically pleasing backdrop. This natural setting is key to its peaceful ambiance and offers a refreshing change from open, exposed parks.
- Ponds On-Site: The presence of "woods and ponds" adds to the scenic beauty and ecological richness of the park. Ponds can contribute to a relaxing atmosphere and offer opportunities for quiet observation of nature.
- Exceptional Quietness: Despite some distant traffic sounds, the prevailing characteristic is one of profound quiet. This makes it an ideal spot for "a good night's sleep" and peaceful daytime relaxation, setting it apart from noisier alternatives.
- No-Frills Focus: The park's lack of "extras like pool, meeting rooms, no store on property" is explicitly highlighted by appreciative customers as a positive. This "no frills" approach contributes to its affordability and maintains a more natural, less commercialized feel.
- Friendly and Accommodating Staff: The ease of late check-in points to a staff that is helpful and customer-oriented, making the arrival process stress-free and contributing to an overall positive experience.
- Good Value: Consistently praised for its "good cost to stay," the park offers excellent value, especially for those prioritizing peace and essential services over luxury amenities.
- Rustic Charm: The "reddish dirt gravel roads" and natural setting contribute to a rustic, authentic camping feel, which is highly appealing to RVers looking to escape paved urban environments.

Apr 27, 2025 · Timothy nagyI have seen bad reviews saying this place is scary. I am not sure where some people are staying but this was a perfectly fine park with woods and ponds. There were 2 long terms I saw that had some kids toys and junk lying around but definitely nothing spooky. The trees and the decent space away from the highway made it quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. The hook ups worked properly and the staff made it super easy to check in late. Definitely would stay again.
Oct 05, 2024 · Lori AndersonThis is mainly a residential park, so if you're looking for a one-night stay but couldn't get a hold of the manager (call nor text) but tried to stop anyway because you have two small kids and an elderly dog and are brave to drive through the park searching for what you hope is one of two possible open spots due to the two envelopes at the cash drop box, you may find yourself in one of the only open spots - E61, where you'll most assuredly be awakened before the sun rises to the continual call of a singular crowing rooster at your neighboring site.Everything else was great 👍.
Dec 24, 2023 · Kate LDrove through to check it out before we decided to stay and I am glad I did! A lot of permanent residence in the campsites and a lot of them were very trashed. Was a little scary to me. When we left I decide to look up the reviews again because i remembered a 4.3 and I was reading how several of the one nighters had lost their cats there. And found out that they were trapped and killed. I do not recommend this campground. I Believe a lot of the reviews that are five stars had to be put by someone that knows the owner.
Mar 09, 2023 · Deborah TorresI chose this campground specifically for its proximity to the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum. We were very happy with the park. It’s super quiet and well kept. The laundry and bathrooms were very clean. Yes, there are a lot of full time residents, but, for the most part, everyone tends their site well. Our site was level, the staff were courteous and the value is tremendous!!
