The park's location on a primary highway ensures ease of access for even the largest RVs and trailers, minimizing challenging maneuvers often associated with more remote campgrounds. While Alvord offers a quiet escape, the nearby towns provide essential services, including grocery stores, gas stations, and dining options, typically just a short drive away. The ease of getting on and off US-287 means less time navigating local roads and more time enjoying your destination or continuing your journey.
Alvord Oaks RV Park provides a range of services designed to make your RV stay as comfortable and hassle-free as possible. These services cater to the practical needs of RVers, from basic hookups to additional conveniences.
- Accommodations for RVs with trailers up to 65 feet: The park is equipped to handle a wide range of RV sizes, including those with substantial trailers, making it versatile for various types of rigs.
- 30 and 50 amp lots: Both standard 30 amp and higher-capacity 50 amp electrical hookups are available, ensuring that RVs of all power requirements can connect securely and efficiently.
- On-site waste dump: A convenient on-site dump station is provided for waste disposal, simplifying one of the routine tasks of RVing.
- On-site management: The presence of on-site management means that assistance is often readily available for questions, concerns, or immediate needs, contributing to a well-managed environment.
- Mail delivery to each resident pad: For longer-term residents, the service of mail delivery directly to each RV pad is a significant convenience, allowing for receipt of correspondence and packages.
It is important for prospective residents to clarify specific terms and conditions for certain services, particularly those that may incur additional charges or have specific usage policies, such as laundry and Wi-Fi, to avoid misunderstandings, especially given feedback from past residents.
Beyond the essential services, Alvord Oaks RV Park offers several features and highlights that enhance the overall experience for its guests. These amenities are designed for comfort, convenience, and a pleasant stay in North Texas.
- Treed lots for shade and protection: Many sites are equipped with trees, offering natural shade which is a valuable asset during hot Texas summers, and some protection from the elements.
- Well-lit and monitored grounds: The park features good lighting and monitoring, contributing to a sense of security and safety for residents and their belongings.
- Quiet atmosphere: Alvord Oaks RV Park is noted for its quiet environment, making it an appealing choice for those seeking a peaceful retreat from noise and bustle.
- Snowbirds welcome: The park is explicitly welcoming to "snowbirds," travelers who typically migrate south during winter months, indicating suitability for extended cold-weather stays.
- Free DVD library (300+ disks): A unique amenity, offering a library of DVDs for guests to borrow and enjoy during their stay, providing entertainment options.
- Full-size showers and toilets at clubhouse: Clean and spacious restroom and shower facilities are available at the clubhouse, offering comfortable options for personal hygiene, especially for those in RVs with smaller facilities.
- Unlimited laundry use (often included in monthly rates): The availability of laundry facilities is a significant convenience for any RVer, and when included, it adds considerable value for long-term residents.
While these features are highlighted, some past reviews suggest that the "unlimited laundry use" and "Wi-Fi" may not be free and could be factored into the overall rent, or have separate charges. Prospective residents should confirm these details directly with park management to ensure clarity on all costs. Additionally, reports of utility issues, particularly during extreme weather, and concerns about potential mold in rented RVs, indicate the importance of thoroughly inspecting any rented unit and clarifying maintenance responsibilities and emergency procedures with management.

Alvord Oaks RV Park Reviews
The landlords are complete jerks they killed our power during that big ice storm while it was 9 degrees outside my husband and I almost froze to death (not a joke very serious) there are flies everywhere!! They also made up some charges so they didn't have to give us our $250 electric deposit back. The wifi and laundry aren't free you pay for that out of your rent.
Jun 27, 2025 · Heather CarterMy daughter and son n law were renting an RV here.. While Robert is doing his best to keep up maintaining the RVs they rent out, this is unacceptable. They were there 2 months and we should have known there was gonna be issues when charged for electric they didn’t even use right after moving.. month 2 brought them noticing the roof leaked and after moving their recliners we saw all the damage that there was. That is MOLD growing within the walls of the RV. There couldn’t have been any maintenance done as needed for years! I would not suggest renting anything from Gary. He’s rude and harassed my son n law while it work and tried to intimidate my daughter.. Btw.. this is #22 so beware. Black Mold is serious and can cause many health problems and it IS a reason to break a lease in the state of Texas.
Sep 12, 2021 · Stephanie VernerThey spoil you here in a good way. The manager, Garry, made booking a reservation easy. Upon arrival he called the maintenance pro, Robert, who hooked up all my lines and leveled my trailer-->Unbelievably good service. The RV park is located immediately adjacent to a highway and a large farm but the maintenance pro gives guests & park residents his tel# and tells them to call 24/7 for questions or concerns. I feel safe here.Add-Free laundry, a full size bathtub to soak in and reasonable fees.and I'd have to ask--what more could you want? ;0)
Mar 25, 2021 · Claudia ScroggsThe property was ok. The women's showers were nasty I'm told. The men's weren't clean but ok. Had very poor hot water. I don't trust the management though. I was trying to move there and didn't have a truck to pull a 5th wheel so an employee came to move it for me. He told me my trailer didn't look good enough to move to their park and proceeded to show me one that I could rent to own. But right now they have a tiny trailer that is in worse shape than mine that is owned by a church. Gary the manager told me that the church will pay for 3 months of rent to give me a chance to save some money for the down payment on the for sale trailer. After 2 weeks they gave me a bill for repairs, a forward balance that totaled close to $500!!! How is that helping me save money? How is that at all what Gary told me what was going to happen? The kicker is that I never even stayed one night in the trailer because the door won't even shut. The cabinets are falling apart . and I don't think the bed would even support me .Don't trust these people at all.
