This placement in Alvord offers a peaceful, small-town setting while still providing excellent accessibility to major thoroughfares, making it an ideal stop for travelers and those looking for a quiet base in North Texas. Alvord is a small community in Wise County, known for its rural charm and proximity to larger cities.
The park boasts easy access right off Highway 81/287, a significant advantage for RVers. This direct connection to a major highway ensures smooth arrival and departure, minimizing the stress often associated with navigating large rigs through unfamiliar areas. For those traveling between the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and points north like Oklahoma, A+ RV Park serves as a convenient and efficient stop. The proximity to Decatur (approximately 10 minutes south) also means that essential services, additional dining options, and local attractions are within a short drive.
Beyond simple transit, the location offers access to regional attractions. Within a reasonable driving distance, RVers can reach the vibrant cities of Fort Worth and Dallas (approximately 45 minutes to an hour away), opening up possibilities for exploring the Fort Worth Stockyards, museums, entertainment venues, and major events like the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. For outdoor enthusiasts, nearby Lake Bridgeport and the Lyndon B. Johnson National Grassland provide opportunities for fishing, hiking, and other recreational activities. This balance of quiet country living with accessible urban and natural attractions makes A+ RV Park's location a practical choice for a variety of travelers.
Full Hookup Sites: A+ RV Park provides full hookup sites for RVs, which typically include city water, electric (20/30/50 amp options), and septic connections at each site. This ensures that RVs can be fully functional and comfortable during their stay, whether for an overnight stop or a longer duration.
Free Wi-Fi: The park offers free Wi-Fi access for its guests. This service is crucial for modern travelers who need to stay connected for work, communication, entertainment, or planning their next leg of a journey. While Wi-Fi performance can vary, it is generally available for streaming and general internet use, although some feedback suggests it might slow down on weekends.
Free Laundry Facilities: A significant amenity offered is free laundry, with separate men's and women's facilities that include washers and dryers. This is a highly valued service for RVers on the road, providing convenience and cost savings compared to external laundromats. The facilities are noted by some guests as being clean and well-maintained.
Private Restrooms and Showers: The park provides clean and private men's and women's shower and restroom facilities. These are essential for comfort, especially for RVers whose rigs may not have extensive bathroom facilities or those who simply prefer using park amenities.

Located in Alvord, it offers a respite from the noise and busyness of larger cities, providing a quiet and relaxing setting for guests. This calm atmosphere is often praised by visitors looking for a tranquil stop.
Pet-Friendly Policy: The park welcomes pets, allowing travelers to bring their furry companions along. While specific restrictions on aggressive breeds and leash requirements apply, the general pet-friendly nature is a significant advantage for many RVers. However, some guests have noted issues with burrs in grassy areas, which can be problematic for pets.
Friendly and Helpful Staff: Numerous reviews highlight the positive interactions with the staff, particularly "Paula in the office." Guests frequently commend her for being very helpful, thorough with directions, and accommodating, even during off-hours check-ins. This high level of customer service contributes significantly to a pleasant stay.
Proximity to Local and Regional Attractions: While offering a quiet escape, the park's location provides convenient access to both local Alvord charm and the broader attractions of North Texas, including lakes, natural grasslands, and the cultural and entertainment offerings of Fort Worth and Dallas.
Room for Improvement: It is important to note areas where improvement has been suggested by past guests. Some reviews mention the need for tree trimming to prevent interference with RVs, and issues with water supply connections being buried in standing water after rain, making hookups difficult. The internal roads can also become muddy after rainfall, impacting vehicle cleanliness and ease of navigation. Additionally, one review mentioned a suspicious "tent tarp" on the edge of the property, which could be a concern for some guests. However, it is also stated the property is generally "well kept."

A+ RV Park Reviews
We just used this park for a 1 night stop overnight of our travels. My observation of the park overall is good But the trees need to be trimmed and the water supply inground needs to raised after a thunderstorm we could not even hook up water it was buried and in standing water.Pretty muddy overall in park after a rain.Paula in the office was great to work with and very thorough with directions into the park which helped a lot. .
Jun 17, 2025 · GramB- RV Park might be more appropriate. There was NO staff to give wifi password or other info, check photos for the amount of burrs in "grass" areas. BEWARE if you have pets, we spent most of our time de-burring the dogs. There is also a suspicious "tent" tarp on the edge of the property, looks like a homeless camp. The last thing is there were a lot of empty lots but the people coming and going were limited to three sites on top of each other. 😔 It was quiet and well kept property. Their empty building also looked new from the outside.
Aug 06, 2023 · Junior Eitel (Junior)It is a simple place, family owned and operated. Really nice family by the way. It has an outdoor picnic area, bathroom, shower, laundry, office with an indoor seating area that includes pub tables and chairs. The bathrooms have a combination lock. When you unlock the door you first step into the laundry room (not coin operated by the way, yes, free) then go into the shower/bathroom. Shower is roomy with a bench built in and has a curtain. The toilet is in its own little cubby beside the shower. The rest of the room has a bench about 6 feet long. So there is a lot of room to put your stuff and it not get wet while showering. Women's side is identical with its own laundry and all. Aside from needing to fill in some holes in the road that fill with water when it rains I give a solid 4 stars.
May 02, 2023 · Randall BowmanGreat campground. Clean shower house with men’s and women’s seperate laundry which is free. Owners are very nice and helpful.
Apr 07, 2025 · Michelle PorchVery clean. They have a nice bathroom, shower, and laundry area. The spots were pull through with full hookups. The spot was big enough we could leave our truck attached for the night. They have a cute little pavilion for people to eat and relax at.
