For RV enthusiasts in South Carolina, finding a park that offers convenience, essential amenities, and a strategic location is often a top priority. In the heart of the Upstate region, 290 RV Park in Greer emerges as a practical option for those seeking a straightforward and well-maintained place to park their rig, especially for extended stays. This article will provide a detailed look at what 290 RV Park offers, drawing from real customer experiences to give you a clear picture of what to expect.
RV parks serve a diverse range of travelers, from weekend adventurers to those needing a longer-term solution for work or relocation. 290 RV Park positions itself to meet these needs, particularly emphasizing its suitability for extended stays. It's a family-run establishment that prides itself on maintaining a clean, pleasant, and attractive environment, aiming for a higher standard of care for its tenants. This focus on upkeep and orderliness is often a significant factor for RVers planning to settle in for more than just a few nights.
Customer reviews provide a nuanced perspective on 290 RV Park. One resident candidly described it as a "love hate relationship honestly." They highly praised the park's proximity to downtown Greer, calling the town "super cute and has some fun places to go!" They also commended the park's maintenance, stating, "This is one of the best maintained RV parks we have ever stayed in. And definitely quiet as far as other campers. The lots are nice and wide and with plenty of clean gravel. And pretty level which is fairly rare." This reviewer appreciated the "nice dog park area" and found the train noise manageable, noting, "There were some trains that went through but we are used to that where we live so it didn't bother us." However, a critical point they raised was the lack of on-site "bath room/shower/laundry facility at all," advising, "So you better be able to use the bathroom in your camper."
Another long-term resident offered a more detailed, yet mixed, review, heavily focusing on the train activity. They highlighted the frequent trains, "every half an hour to an hour," and the loud horn blowing "right at the site" due to proximity to a crossing. They explicitly stated, "I wouldn’t go back just because of the trains being so active and being to close to a crossing." This individual also felt that the dog park, being "a maybe 20 x 10 area that’s all gravel and that’s so close to the train tracks," was problematic for their dog. They noted "odd" hookups, including sharing a water spigot, though it "never gave a problem." This reviewer also provided important information about the pricing structure: "They advertise the pricing as $600 a month plus electric, but with the $150 deposit they have you pay and the taxes, it’s comes out to $870 the first month, they put your deposit towards the first electric bill and per SC state law they can charge you taxes for the first three months. So if you stay that long it’s never actually $600 until month 4." This detailed feedback on pricing transparency and the significant impact of train noise are crucial considerations for prospective campers.
290 RV Park is strategically located at 1836 E Poinsett Street Extension, Greer, SC 29651, USA. This address places it squarely in Greer, a vibrant city nestled in the Upstate region of South Carolina. The park's name itself, "290 RV Park," hints at its accessibility, likely being near SC-290, a significant local thoroughfare.
One of the park's most appealing features, as highlighted by a resident, is its "close proximity to downtown Greer." This means residents have easy access to the charming downtown area, which is described as "super cute and has some fun places to go!" This includes local shops, restaurants, and other community attractions, providing convenience for daily needs and leisure activities. Furthermore, Greer's location is excellent for exploring the wider Upstate region. It's conveniently situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, allowing for straightforward drives to both cities and their respective offerings, including larger shopping centers, medical facilities, and cultural attractions. The park is also reportedly just 10 minutes from BMW Manufacturing and 15 minutes from Greenville Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), and a 10-minute drive from Interstate 85, making it an ideal spot for those working in the area or needing quick airport access.
290 RV Park focuses on providing essential services for comfortable RV living, particularly for longer-term stays. Their dedication to a "safe, pleasant, clean and attractive environment" underpins their service philosophy.
Full Hook-up RV Sites: The park offers sites with 30 and 50 amp electric service, full water, and sewer hookups, accommodating comprehensive RV needs. The sites feature a gravel base, which helps in maintaining cleanliness and level parking.
Trash Disposal: A trash dumpster is available on-site for convenient household garbage disposal, simplifying waste management for residents.
Clean and Well-Maintained Grounds: Consistent feedback emphasizes the park's excellent maintenance, with "well maintained" sites and "clean gravel" lots. This indicates a commitment to a tidy and appealing environment.
Pet-Friendly Policy: The park is pet-friendly and includes a designated "dog park area," although it is noted to be gravel and close to the train tracks.
Contractual Stays (Weekly/Monthly): The park operates on a contractual basis for weekly or monthly stays, with a clear "no refunds" policy, indicating a preference for stable, committed residents. Monthly pricing is advertised at $600 plus electric, but includes a $150 deposit and state taxes for the first three months.

290 RV Park Reviews
It’s a love hate relationship honestly. The town is known for their train ports so you expect it, but this is a whole new level of learning trains lol. It’s not like the people there are bad. I wouldn’t go back just because of the trains being so active and being to close to a crossing, so the train starts blowing its horn right at the site (you can hear it loud and clear in the camper). We were on one of the sites that were farthest away from the tracks but I couldn’t imagine being the campers 100ft from the tracks (I tried to get a picture to show). They make you sign a contract whether it’s a week or a month etc. and that states no refunds and they mean it when they say it, which I could see why. I stay home full time so I got to really know the trains well and they come by frequently (every half an hour to an hour). The dog park is a maybe 20 x 10 area that’s all gravel and that’s so close to the train tracks that the one day I saw the conductor in the train. Cool but crazy and luckily it was going slow because a lot of them send you running for the camper hearing the nails on a chalk board sound rolling by. I did kind of feel bad for my dog because the month we were there she basically had to poop and pee on gravel the whole time. Expect for the 3 places we could take her to use the bathroom where there was a little bit of grass. The hook ups seem farther away from the campers and are some what odd. We shared a water spicket with the people next to us (picture below), weird but never gave a problem. They advertise the pricing as $600 a month plus electric, but with the $150 deposit they have you pay and the taxes, it’s comes out to $870 the first month, they put your deposit towards the first electric bill and per SC state law they can charge you taxes for the first three months. So if you stay that long it’s never actually $600 until month 4. Over all though the site is in close proximity to downtown Greer, it’s super cute and has some fun places to go!
Nov 25, 2024 · Sophie ParkerWe stayed at this campground from 9/9 to when we left on 9/12/2021 to judge at an Antique Automobile Club of America event in Greenville. This is one of the best maintained RV parks we have ever stayed in. And definitely quiet as far as other campers. There were some trains that went through but we are used to that where we live so it didn't bother is. The lots are nice and wide and with plenty of clean gravel. And pretty level which is fairly rare. They have a nice dog park area. The only reason I am not giving them five stars is there isn't any bath room/shower/laundry facility at all. So you better be able to use the bathroom in your camper.
Sep 14, 2021 · Susan LindenIf I could give 0 stars, I would. I’m not sure where the positive reviews are coming from but this place is horrible. There is no way the pictures on here are accurate. First, trying to get in is pretty tough. Next, you enter what seems like a Trailer Storage place. The original asphalt driveway that was there many moons ago has now broken up and being made to look like gravel. Not a tree anywhere. Very minimal grass but only on a site or two. They have an application process that made us feel like we were going to stay at a somewhat nice/ safe place. Total opposite. We prepaid for a week. Got there, hooked up because we paid and stayed and hour and half and finally said, no way! Found another place and are much happier. It says “Absolutely No Refunds” on their contract because they know once you see the place, you’re turning around. Trust me, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Aug 02, 2022 · Trisha SpareI can't say enough on how great this RV Park is, owners are impeccable, it's always quiet and safe. I hope to return soon!
Jan 06, 2025 · Ron HarveyClose to everything and yet far enough away to give a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle. Easy to park in lots , reliable connections and very helpful staff. Hard to beat !
