★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We decided to book a yurt for a night to “ease” our kids into camping. We arrived a little early and they are firm on the 4pm check in. When we did check in and arrived at our yurt it seemed nice! When we walked inside though it had a very strong odor that the previous people had been smoking something. We opened booth the doors and let the yurt air out for a couple of hours. The yurt itself is nice and had a bunk bed with a full mattress on bottom and a pull out couch. There was also a free standing bar with four stools. I did wipe down everything with sanitizer as the tops were sticky/dusty. So I would highly recommended bringing some wipes just to sanitize/clean. You do bring your own linens and pillows. There were 5 of us and we fit comfortably. There is a deck attached to the yurt with two chairs with a nice view of the lake. We fished from the deck but mainly ended up feeding the baby fish and some turtles because the lake is so shallow. There is a ring fire pit, a grill, and a picnic table in front of the yurt as well! All in all we would recommend staying here!
July 21 · Angie DStarting our experience at the visitor center checking in for our reservation was quick and easy and the staff were very friendly. We stayed in yurt 4 and found it adequately furnished having just what we needed with a nice deck over the water with two deck chairs to sit in and enjoy the view. Out front was a picnic table, a grill and a fire ring that also had a cooking grate that could be used. The ducks visited everyday and was one of the highlights of our trip. The MTB trails were a good ride and the hiking was great as well. We'll definitely be returning soon!
