The park spans a significant area, encompassing a 455-acre reservoir that serves as the centerpiece for many water-based activities. The Group Campground is designed to accommodate larger parties, making it an excellent choice for scout troops, family reunions, youth groups, or any gathering seeking a collective outdoor experience.
The essence of Yellowstone Lake State Park's Group Campground lies in its ability to blend the tranquility of the Wisconsin wilderness with the convenience of dedicated camping facilities. While the park is popular, the group sites offer a more specialized experience, focusing on shared adventure and communal enjoyment. Yellowstone Lake State Park, and its Group Campground, is conveniently located at 7900 N Lake Rd, Blanchardville, WI 53516, USA. This address places it in Lafayette County, within a manageable driving distance for many communities across Wisconsin. For those coming from Madison, Milwaukee, or other major Wisconsin cities, the drive offers a pleasant journey through the state's charming rural landscapes.
The campground's location on N Lake Rd brings you directly to the heart of the park, though some visitors have noted that the approach to the campground area itself can be a bit winding and may require careful navigation, as there isn't always a prominent office right at the entrance. Despite the initial navigation, the remote feel once you arrive adds to the sense of escape from everyday hustle. Yellowstone Lake State Park, Group Campground Reviews
There was no available firewood within a 15 mile radius and all of the doors to the parks wood were locked. Also the park ranger was kind enough to park in front of our campsite for a solid 45 minutes with their headlights shining straight into our tents. Nothing says perfect night light like 4,000 lumens at 11:45 at night. You also will be driving down a long winding road and there isn’t an office you pass when heading into the campground. The whole place is a bit confusing to navigate.
