Yellow Lantern Kamp Grounds Reviews
The staff was extremely unfriendly! We arrived on bikes and while one of us waited at the office, the other one just had a quick look at the place to see if it would suit us. We were told that this had been trespassing. The manager even accused us to have used the restrooms! Finally she claimed that they don’t take tents, even though we had seen tents on the photos on Google. The campground is on nice grounds, and it was almost completely empty, but the staff is extremely unfriendly!
Jun 14, 2025 · Gregor ProfitlichThe Yellow Lantern Kamp Ground is family friendly, quiet, and my kids feel comfortable there. We have camped there 2 summers now. The kids have enjoyed riding their bikes, playing on the playgrounds and swimming. We enjoyed our time there! Thank you to the owners for making it a wonderful experience!
Aug 13, 2024 · Jaclyn GermanI stayed for a leisurely eight days at Yellow Lantern Campground. The location is quiet, off the Interstate, on 40 acres outside of Cortland, NY.The campground is a beautiful park environment, mowed, edged, clean. Tall trees are throughout. This is not a dirt and gravel campground. The owners keep it quiet by restricting visitors...only registered guests allowed in, so no drive throughs. Guests are not invited to the pool. There were children and families camping throughout. Everyone was respectful, pleasant company.Sites were grassy with gravel to park on, and relatively flat and level. The main loop road is blacktop, others are graded gravel. My site had 30 amp, but 50 amp is available. Campground water is crystal clear and tastes good, but I still used my filter for city water hookup from habit. My site has sewer. There is a dump site easily accessible from both sides, inside the exit gate.Fee for full hookup was $55.00 per night, with a $50 air conditioner fee, and a $10 refundable electric gate card. There are monthly rates, but not weekly rates.Would I recommend this to my family? Yes. If passing through central NY, I would stay again happily.
Jul 31, 2024 · Bob ZhurunkleWe had a great experience as a family at the yellow lantern. This is our 3rd year camping there! The kids enjoyed playing in the pool, riding their bikes and playing on the playground. It was a very quiet and peaceful campground. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Aug 13, 2024 · Sarah ScorseWe were so thankful to get a site around 5:00 p.m. The very night that we needed it. The campground area is absolutely beautiful. The lady that works in the office was very nice! However, when we got the rules and the regulations, we discovered that number 20 says inform office of all electric heaters and air conditioners as well as additional appliances. There is an additional fee for these services. Failure to report will result in duplicate charges. I have never heard of paying $50 a night for a campsite and not being able to use your air conditioner or your heater. The next morning it was 46°. Why did we spend $50 when we could have boondock somewhere? Just a warning, you are paying $50 just to run your lights! You might as well pull up at Walmart, so you can save your $50.
