I don’t know why based on some of the previous review photos I wasn’t sure of what to expect but this campground was totally amazing. The entry comes up quickly and unsuspecting after Tamarisk Grove (if you’re coming from Borrego Springs). We arrived around 5:30 pm this past Saturday May 6th and only a handful of spots were taken. We went down a ways for privacy. No one ever drove past our spot after we arrived. There is a vault toilet available that was surprisingly clean and stocked with toilet paper (not the rock wall bathroom photo I posted, use those at your own risk hah). We only heard our closest neighbors for a short period when they were bumping some music but then we never heard them again after a few minutes. You definitely hear cars on the nearby road but it was white noise. The darkness and stargazing is incredible here. The wind was pretty intense so bring extra stakes and secure everything if you’re tent camping. Seems like a lot of spots available and probably continues down the road but we didn’t go too far. I can’t wait to come back. Also, don’t use the rock rings that are made at the campsites. A ranger came around and told us they’re illegal. Use metal rings only. - Nicole Ridgely
