May 19, 2025 · Crystal BrownAfter ten years of camping at this KOA we pulled in today and were escorted to our site. When at the site I asked the escort why we were assigned a piece of crap site. The escort got extremely rude and said if we don’t like it to go talk to the manager. My wife politely asked for the manger to come and talk to us. Apparently the escort told the manager we insulted her and when the manager came to the site he told us to leave or he’d have the police escort us out. According to him the POS site was assigned because we made the reservation on line. The last few times we stayed here we noticed this KOA is getting run down and the employees have been increasingly rude.We left and went a few miles up the road where we go a level large site for 20.00 a night less.My recommendation is to stay as far away from this campground as possible. The worst Thousand Trails we’ve stayed at is better than the Wytheville KOA Holiday.
Jun 14, 2025 · David StankovicThis is often used as a 'pass thru' campground due to it's convenient location - but this is a great destination campground. We stayed for 10 nights while visiting family in Virginia. The owners have made major upgrades in the past year, spreading out sides behind the office to make them wider (yes, wider - not closer together like everyone else). They have 6 sites with EV charging stations. The laundry and bathroom facilities are recently remodeled. They have a bowling alley & snack area with pizza and hand scooped ice cream. The pool was closed since still kinda cold out, but it was remodeled last year also. Two playgrounds, cabins and added sites up the hill if you want to be more away from things. There are golf carts available for rent. The sites are generally level, although the campground is on a hillside so they are not flat like a campground at the coast - but no issues with our 44' motorhome leveling. In fact, it barely had to adjust. The camp store/office is well stocked & clean, and every member of the staff was helpful, courteous and professional. Anytime we are passing near western VA we will stop here. They have Wi-Fi, but we used our Star Link. Verizon and AT&T were both generally 3 bars until everyone started streaming movies in the evening when the cell signal slowed down. We camped at Wytheville KOA Holiday in a Motorhome.
Apr 09, 2025 · Steven RupertGreat camground right off the highway. We were only here one night but they have a lot to offer. Bowling, arcade, play grounds, mini golf, panning, pizza, ice cream, pool with two slides and much more. We had site L21. The park was very clean and well manicured. The staff were nice and friendly.
Jun 01, 2025 · Adam WoodThis place is adorable… we needed just one night, and the front desk gentleman was the best. Easily accessible from 81 and 77. He gave us a pull through site and it accommodated our 45’er and our additional truck and trailer. This place was packed… tons for kids to do…. Pool, water slides, arcade, tent camping. We will definitely be back.Inside joke for front desk gentleman…”I love you..”. lol
