Wilderness Shores Ranch & Campground Reviews
I would give them 10 stars if I could. Wilderness Shores was an absolutely unforgettable experience for our whole family. Paul, the owner, was incredibly friendly, personable, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. He was fantastic with the kids — patient, fun, and genuinely wanted everyone to have a great time. The property itself is breathtaking. 80 acres of serene, beautiful land with lakes, trails, and wide open spaces to explore. The kids were thrilled to see the longhorns and even spotted some gators (at a safe distance!). The horses and goats were a huge hit, and it was clear that all the animals were well cared for and part of the family. One of the most unique parts of the stay was the outdoor showers — showering under the sky surrounded by nature was an experience we’ll never forget. The hanging bridge over the lake was another highlight, giving us amazing views and a fun adventure crossing over the water.Fishing on the lakes was peaceful and relaxing, and every trail led to something new to discover. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and tranquility, and we can’t wait to come back. Wilderness Shores is a true hidden gem.
Jun 15, 2025 · Rome TheoryWe had a wonderful time. The kids enjoyed having an "adventure" walking around finding the horses, cows, and Goats (even though they could have just waited at our campsite- all the animals came by and various times of the day. Everyone was friendly and helpful - bath house was clean and in good working order. I love the bridge swings. Thanks for the water slide- the kids loved playing in it!!
Jun 18, 2025 · Kimberly FarrierMr. Paul and Ms. Melinda have a truly amazing, breathtaking piece of land, a little slice of heaven here on earth! We tent camped for 2-nights, 3 days and it was wonderful. So peaceful and beautiful. Our 4 children loved the goats, free roaming cattle and the ATV ride that Mr. Paul took us on (for an additional fee)! We fished, roamed, played, and played some more. The bathrooms were nice and tidy and the outdoor showers were a nice addition. The ranch hand, Mr. Joey and Ms. Betty at the front desk were highly accommodating. A wonderful place, with wonderful people, made for a wonderful vacation! Also, you need to try the "homegrown" meats, we purchased several to take home and it was the tastiest, most tender grass-fed steaks we have eaten. After our camping here, we had reservations for a Disney Water Park and the kids DID NOT want to leave the ranch! We will absolutely be back!
Apr 04, 2025 · Kristen DeLucaI absolutely love Wilderness Shores! I visit at least once a month, and it never disappoints. This place is HUGE, perfect for fishing, camping, kayaking, and bringing your RV. The animals roam freely and are clearly well cared for & happy: goats, chickens, cattle, horses, and more! You can even buy feed to interact with them, which is such a fun experience. The check-in area also sells fresh eggs, meat, and other goodies. The staff goes above and beyond, making every visit special. If you’re up for some adventure, the ATV rides around the property are a must! Paul and Betty do an amazing job guiding us through the trails. And I have to mention the restrooms, so CLEAN! I have no idea how they keep them that clean with all the campers and people washing up after feeding the animals, but they do.Wilderness Shores is truly a gem. Highly recommend it for a fun and relaxing getaway or to just visit for a few hours! My 3 year old is obsessed with visiting.

The highlight for our kids was definitely the goats—they absolutely loved them! The owner was also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend for a fun and relaxing family getaway.
