Situated with easy access to major routes, this campground primarily caters to RVers looking for essential hookups in a quiet environment. It's a straightforward option for those prioritizing convenience and affordability over extensive resort-style amenities, making it a functional choice for travelers passing through or needing a base in the Winchester area.
Reviews from actual customers provide valuable insights into the experience at White Oak Trading Post/Campground. One visitor appreciated the simplicity and ease of their stay: "Quiet and accommodating. We stayed two nights in an overnight sight. Paid on our way out! Gravel pull through with full hookups. VERY reasonable." This highlights the campground's appeal for those seeking a hassle-free overnight or short-term stay with necessary utilities. However, another reviewer encountered some issues with the electrical hookups, noting, "the first one I pulled into - all the power lines to the box were cut. Not using that one. Checked another site - the outlets were burned. Not using that one either. Finally checked a third site...the lines are not properly wired or it has a loose neutral." While the staff was described as "nice enough on the phone," this experience led the camper to seek an alternative. These reviews suggest that while the campground offers reasonable rates and a quiet atmosphere, it's advisable for campers to be prepared with their own surge protector/tester for electrical connections.

White Oak Trading Post/Campground Reviews
Quiet and accommodating. We stayed two nights in an overnight sight. Paid on our way out! Gravel pull through with full hookups. VERY reasonable.
Jul 10, 2024 · George TrunkNice enough on the phone. We wanted an overnight parking- told plenty of spots but recommended we park inside a paved circle. Easy to find the spots but the first one I pulled into- all the power lines to the box were cut. Not using that one. Checked another site - the outlets were burned. Not using that one either. Finally checked a third site. Promising, so I parked, plugged up my surge protector/tester and what do you know, the lines are not properly wired or it has a loose neutral. Packed back up and left. Use the exit for gas, but keep driving to another campground
Sep 17, 2022 · Kert LangAbsolutely delicious country cooking! Wonderful staff and the best country cooking! Their chipped beef gravy on Saturday mornings is to die for!
Nov 15, 2022 · Elizabeth PeacheyI lived here for 2 years. The only problem I had was the neighbor kept blocking me in. I was in the spot far back against White Oak Rd.The place is quiet...and very layed back.I'm sure now it's probably in the 800 range per month. It was 650 per month 4 years ago 2016.
Mar 31, 2021 · Angela TwisteeQuiet, just a couple miles off interstate, lady who checked ya in was friendly, didn’t need to use levelers, just across from large and scenic Shenandoah Park. Very reasonable rates (cash only) Would definitely stay again. Note that office closed at 1pm the day we checked in, keep that in mind if you plan to arrive later.
