Whistle Stop Campground Reviews
This place is so cute, the pond is very refreshing during the summer, as it is very deep, the water stays nice and cool. People can walk to the amusement park next door. They have snacks, and convenient stuff at the office. The only reason I didn't give it all the stars is because there is no laundry room. So you have to drive into town to do laundry. The little town of Marshall has everything and Waterloo is the cutest place.
Jul 02, 2025 · Sylvia MeléndezAmazing place to stop for a destination family vacation as well as for a place to stay near Madison. We stayed 3 days here and spent part of the time in Madison and part enjoying the campground amenities as well as Little Amerrika nearby. The playground is really nice. It is really quiet and off the main street. The pastoral scene is relaxing and it was not very crowded when we were here. Definitely worth stopping by or checking out. Just talked to the main manager lady who explained that there is a new owner now and the place has really turned around. She really deserves a raise BTW. Plan on returning when in the area.
Jun 27, 2025 · Seung LeeWhere to begin? What an AMAZING campground. Also it’s under new ownership - Dana who was absolutely wonderful. The camp ground is very clean, very well maintained. Plenty to do if you want to stay. They have a train that connects to a small amusement park (little Amerika)and it’s a wonderful experience!! They offer pizza and delivered. Fire wood is delivered as well if needed. The gift shop was very nice, ice cream inside. At an additional cost the train will ride at 9pm on Sat evening, you need something that glows or lights up it’s really cool to take a ride at night through the trails and the kids loved it. It was by far one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. I’ve been to the Caribbean many times, Disney. This was an amazing trip I can’t wait to come Back. All of the other staff were extremely nice as well they went out of their way to make the kids happy. I gotta say this was a great experience. Thank you so much Dana and best of luck with the most success possible. You are off to a great start!!!
Jun 09, 2025 · ANIt sounds like it’s back with old management this year. We have come here for several years and it’s always so much fun! Clean flushable bathrooms and showers, big campsites. Small enough that I feel comfortable with the kids riding bikes around but they still have all the “stuff” that makes camping fun! The train ride to little amerika is always a hit
