Whispering Pines Campground Introduce

For us Rhode Islanders looking for a family-friendly camping destination that offers a mix of outdoor activities and the comforts of a developed campground, Whispering Pines Campground in Hope Valley is a well-known option. Tucked away among tall pine trees in the scenic part of the state, it aims to provide a memorable experience with a variety of amenities designed to keep all ages entertained. While a "clean but older campground" with a rustic feel due to "falling pine needles and dirt/rock parking," its extensive list of recreational offerings positions it as a go-to spot for many local families seeking adventure and relaxation close to home.
Recent visitor experiences offer a multifaceted view of what to expect. One camper appreciated the "tall trees throughout the park" and the "clean but older campground," highlighting the "nice activity center," "miniature golf, dog park, and other fun stuff for kids," as well as a "fun water park for kids and big playground." However, this same visitor cautioned against visiting in May, as the "store and activities were all closed even at 11:00 am," and the "pool wasn’t open." This suggests that the full experience is best enjoyed during peak season. Another reviewer, with a larger RV, found the "sites are very small and on top of each other" in the "big rigs" section, leading to discomfort and a desire not to return due to the tight spaces and a perceived unfriendliness from a staff member regarding a late check-out policy. This visitor also noted "Wi-Fi is horrible," despite being near a tower, but did acknowledge that "The kids enjoyed the pool and cute little splash pad they had." These combined perspectives highlight the campground's appeal for families with children and its strong activity offerings, while also pointing to potential challenges with site size for larger rigs and the importance of understanding operational hours and policies, particularly early in the season.
Whispering Pines Campground is ideally situated at 41 Sawmill Rd, Hope Valley, RI 02832, USA. This location in the southwestern part of Rhode Island makes it conveniently accessible for residents across the state, as well as from neighboring Connecticut and Massachusetts. Hope Valley itself is a charming village within the town of Hopkinton, known for its rural beauty and proximity to state parks and natural areas.
The campground's address places it amidst the characteristic "tall trees" of the New England landscape, contributing to that classic camping feel. Its accessibility from major routes means that a family weekend getaway doesn't require extensive travel, allowing Rhode Islanders more time to enjoy their destination. While the internal parking surfaces are noted as "dirt/rock," which adds to the rustic appeal, the ease of reaching Hope Valley itself is a significant advantage. The surrounding area offers additional opportunities for exploration, including hiking, fishing, and simply enjoying the scenic Rhode Island countryside. For those with larger recreational vehicles, it's worth noting the feedback regarding internal site sizes and layouts for "big rigs," suggesting that while the campground is accessible, careful planning or communication about site dimensions might be beneficial upon booking to ensure comfort. Overall, the convenient Hope Valley location makes Whispering Pines a practical choice for local campers seeking a natural escape within easy reach.

- Tiered Seasonal Rates: The campground operates on a peak season (June 13 – Sep 14) and off-season (April 15 – June 12, Sep 15 – Oct 15) pricing model. - Seasonal Camper Agreements: For those looking for a longer-term stay, Whispering Pines offers seasonal agreements from April 15 to October 15, with specific policies regarding renewals, key cards, visitors, and pump-out services. This is important to note to avoid misunderstandings, as highlighted in one customer review.
It is highly recommended to review the detailed rate information on their official website or contact the campground directly to understand all pricing and any current special offers that might apply to your specific travel dates and needs.

Whispering Pines Campground Reviews
Tall trees throughout the park with falling pine needles and dirt/ rock parking, it’s a clean but older campground, nice activity center but locked up by 5:00 so while we were here in the rain we couldn’t leave the camper to do the fun things they had like ping pong or air hockey. It was a long night. They have miniature golf, dog park, and other fun stuff for kids. Pool wasn’t open but they have one. Fun water park for kids and big playground. My suggestion is don’t come in May, unless you are passing through because store and activities were all closed even at 11:00 am.
May 07, 2025 · Tami Kay Williams Watson (TK IN NC)Soooo this place is $70 a night and we are arms length from our neighbors. This section was supposed to be for “big rigs”. The poor guy next to us is about 3 feet from the railroad ties and he has a toy hauler. So much for getting anything out of the back.Their return email said to me…. Give our office at call at (401) 539-7011 or email us. or email us, if you have any questions, Our FRIENDLY staff will take care of you. She was NOT very friendly.Thought I WAS emailing them. Very prompt responses when I wanted to add a day to the front end of our stay. Then later decided I wanted to add a day to the end. It was supposed to rain Saturday night and I figured we could dry out all day Sunday and leave that night instead of Monday morning. We do this often, leave the evening before our official last day. The camp manager, or whoever it was, came speeding over in her golf cart to reprimand us because (so she thought), that we should have been out by 11 am today AND we don’t have late check outs. I told her I sent an email to let them know we wanted to extend until Monday. She said they never got the email and I am supposed to call. Does it say that on their page or website? Nooooo. She said corporate never informed her. Like that is MY fault. Piece of work.Wi-Fi is horrible, yes we are Glamping, we are within view of the tower and I keep getting kicked off. The kids enjoyed the pool and cute little splash pad they had. The pool was kind of cloudy with all the people in it on the weekend. She told me next time call the office. Oh, there will not be a next time, especially for the price of being jammed in.
Jun 08, 2025 · Deb DABS of paintAdvertising tent camping and we were created by a drunk. Store never open. Not biker friendly and no tent camping. After riding all day we were turned down at night. Don't waste time going here if your on a bike or tent camping
Jun 10, 2025 · Dennis KopaskaMy family loves camping here. The campground is family oriented and has plenty of things to do to keep the kids busy. They do a great job planning activities and bands for the weekends. We are looking forward to booking our stay for the next camping season.
