Whiskey Rock Bay Campground is located at 21870 Forest Road 278, Bayview, ID 83803, USA. While the address might seem straightforward, accessing the campground requires careful attention to directions. Many visitors advise against relying solely on Google Maps, recommending instead to "Follow the signs for Gold Bar Lodge then it's a straight shot." The last 6 miles of the road to the campground are described as "rough," indicating that a vehicle with higher clearance is advisable, and caution should be exercised, especially after adverse weather. Due to the area's popularity with off-road vehicles, visitors are also advised to "stay on your side of the road." For those with boats, direct access by water is often considered the "easiest way to get there," though the dock can be full on weekends. This remote-feeling accessibility contributes to the campground's rugged charm, placing it firmly within the natural embrace of the Coeur d'Alene National Forest and offering beautiful views of Lake Pend Oreille. Despite the access challenges, its prime lakeside location makes the journey worthwhile for many.

Whiskey Rock Bay Campground Reviews
Swimming beach and small boat launch. Several campsites with water access and a bunch more further from the water. 2 vault outhouses that may or may not have tp so bring your own. Beautiful views of the lake. If camping over the weekend expect loud and obnoxious people fighting and playing loud music late into the night on the docks. Don't use Google Maps directions to get there, it is wrong. Follow the signs for gold bar lodge then it's a straight shot. Lots of off road vehicles play in that area so stay on your side of the road. Easiest way to get there is by boat but dock is often full on the weekend.

Sep 04, 2024 · Kim StoweThis is a very cool campground! However the drive up is ROUGH would not recommend a car and good tires are a must! Gets very narrow in places and NOT well maintained....... but if you can get there it's beautiful
Jun 12, 2023 · Kat McClainIt's a rough drive but so worth it!
Jul 29, 2024 · Josie BWe found out about the camp grounds that were perfect. We took our 26ft class C rv pulling our 25ft pontoon boat. Came threw Lakeview and man it was a horrible drive! Them roads are not.meant for an rv let alone pulling a boat . Once you get to the end it was paradise ! Very beautiful! Nice dock ,locals ,that boat in BTW were awesome. No one believed we towed our boat up threw them mountains . But we made it and will go back . Next time we will launch the boat in bayview and boat in. We had a great time! The roads are bad! Took us 3.5 hrs at night to work the road but hey we did it and made it out. Wouldn't recommend anyone driving a rv up there unless you plan on a crazy drive 😜 washed out road in several areas ,pot holes galore.
