West Piney Recreation Camp Introduce
For many Idahoans, the scenic beauty of our state is best shared with friends, family, and community. Finding the perfect location that can accommodate a large group, from a family reunion to a youth retreat, can be a challenge. Fortunately, nestled in the picturesque landscape near Ririe, West Piney Recreation Camp provides a solution. This unique facility is not a traditional public campground, but rather a dedicated group-oriented retreat center that offers an ideal setting for large gatherings. Designed to provide a safe, spacious, and engaging environment, West Piney is a true gem for those planning a multi-person getaway.
West Piney Recreation Camp is a "children's camp" and a "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" facility, which means it is primarily used for organized group events and requires advance reservations. This structured approach is a significant benefit, as it guarantees that your group will have exclusive access to a wealth of amenities and space without the interruption of other campers. As one reviewer noted, this is "the best place we could have stayed at for our group of youth. Lots of room to sleep, play and eat." Another highlighted that it's a "Great place for groups" with a "Large lodge with lots of available beds." This focus on group needs is what makes it stand out from typical campgrounds.
The camp's dedication to providing a full-service experience for its guests means that much of the planning is simplified. The infrastructure is already in place to handle large numbers of people, from sleeping quarters to recreational areas. This allows group leaders and organizers to focus on the activities and the people, rather than worrying about logistics. It’s a peaceful, organized, and fun environment that has been a favorite for many groups for years, with a reservation system that ensures it remains a private and secure destination.
West Piney Recreation Camp is located at Forest Rd 40230, Ririe, ID 83443, USA. While the address suggests a remote, forest setting, the camp is designed to be easily accessible for all types of visitors. The location is relatively close to the town of Ririe, and provides a beautiful natural backdrop for any gathering.
Accessibility is a key feature of West Piney. The camp offers both a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot. This inclusivity is a major benefit for groups that may have members with mobility challenges. On-site parking is provided, which is crucial for groups arriving in multiple vehicles. This ensures that everyone has a place to park and that the area remains organized.
It is important to remember that West Piney is accessible by reservation only, and it is a popular destination that "books out way in advance." This means that spontaneous trips are not possible. For any group leader, it is vital to contact the camp well ahead of your desired dates to secure your stay. This advance planning is a small price to pay for a private and well-equipped facility that is tailored to group needs.
