Uncle Bernies Campground Reviews
Our experience with Uncle Bernie's Campground in Motley, MN was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. We booked a cabin a week in advance, but upon arrival, we found it to be dirty, nasty, and smelled awful. The blankets were stained, and the beds were old and repulsive.Given the unacceptable condition, we immediately decided we couldn't stay in the cabin. Despite this, Uncle Bernie's tried to charge us $75 for just one night in that unlivable cabin. We ended up having to sleep in our truck because the cabin was uninhabitable. To make matters worse, after paying $300, we were only refunded $250, meaning they essentially kept $50 for a cabin we couldn't even use. This level of uncleanliness and the deceptive billing practices are completely unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs.

Jun 17, 2025 · Ammon BuhlerSuch a peaceful place to stay. Our campsite was nicely kept. Tubing down the river was the highlight of our trip. Uncle Bernie makes you feel like well taken care of family.
Aug 03, 2023 · Nicole EricksonUncle Bernie is awesome. The river is basically rockless. A lot of sand. If you dont stop the trip takes about 1 hour to an hour and a half. Highly recommended as a river tuber.
Jul 17, 2023 · NathanWe were just looking for a place to roast hotdogs and marshmallows over a fire and called Bernie. He allowed us to use one of his sites for a few hours. Very friendly. Went out of his way to bring us some skewers for the food. Quiet and peaceful sites. Rustic but clean. The outhouses needed some work though.lots of wild turkey just a hundred yards from our spot towards sundown.
