Twelvemile Beach Campground Reviews
Great campground. Bathrooms were kept clean, and there were no showers. Views are stunning during sunsets. We camped on site 27. One photo is looking over our tent. Clear water with a variety of rocks
Jun 02, 2025 · Voodoo majikGreat experience here. Beach is beautiful and great for rock hunting. Found a couple yoops before being eaten alive by the locals.
Jul 02, 2025 · WakizookiBeautiful campground, well maintained campsites. The beach is a good spot for sunset! It’s hard to get a site by the lake, so better to reserve earlier! Very dog friendly campground and beach. BUT be aware of STABLE FLIES on the beach, especially in May and June! They are absolutely horrible, painful bites on humans and dogs. So bad as if we (including my two dogs) were haunted by them. Last year we were here during the week of 7/4, and no stable flies. So depends on the time you visit.
Jun 21, 2025 · Sun JessicaWhat a Beautiful place!Campsites are well taken care of. Unfortunately the weather was not great when we visited with great winds coming off of Lake Superior. If wind or rain is in the forecast I would advise it is not worth it to come out, they close the beaches for dangerous water conditions. We weren’t able to kayak either. We didn’t have any issues with this but one thing to note is no bear boxes, they recommend keeping food in car.
Jul 12, 2024 · Jordan MarshallCame in mid June and had a great time. Very peaceful, sounds of waves, nature, peace and quiet. Sites right on the dunes and the beach. Temps were cooler and wind off the lake so that helped with bugs. Mosquitos were around but came prepared and they were not a nuisance. Good home base for exploring Pictured Rocks Nat'l Lakeshore if you can score a site here.
