Tranquility RV & Campground Reviews
We camped here over Memorial Day weekend. We camp in a tent, and we loved that the camp sites had great designated spots for tents. There are tons of trees for shade, which is so nice. The fire pits were awesome, too. Our spot, number 9, was across from the beautiful pond where we caught about 30 fish! The owners, Dewey and Ruth, are so kind and welcoming. We will definitely be back!
May 27, 2025 · Ashley BowenOur favorite of four campgrounds we stayed at on our 11-day trip. The campground is well spread out, so the spots feel very private, and the setting is beautiful - creeks going through the park to a beautiful lake. Walking path around the lake. Bathhouse in great condition. We stayed in an electric/water pull-through site that was perfect. The on-site RV dump station was well positioned and easy to use.HIGHLY recommend that you look closely at the directions you will be sent when you make reservations - do not go by the GPS. AND - rewrite the directions backwards, so you can easily drive out. I got zero wifi (Verizon) at the park and just beyond, so had fun trying to figure out whether we needed to go left or right to get back to the freeway - based on the directions I had in the text.Highly recommend - gorgeous spot.
May 21, 2025 · C EI cannot say enough about the AMAZING camping experience we had at Tranquility RV & Campgrounds in Mentone, AL. The Campgrounds were Emaculant, Peaceful and BEAUTIFUL. Our campsite was 30 yards from a beautiful lake atop Lookout Mountain. Mrs. Ruth and Duey were the best host anyone could ever ask for. After arriving at camp, we began to setup our camp. Duey came over to greet us and see how our drive up had been. During our conversation I mentioned we needed to run to town and get some ice and firewood. After a few minutes Duey left and we continued setting up camp. About 20 minutes later, Duey arrived with a 20lb bag of ice and 2 bundles of firewood. I couldn't believe it. He had taken time to drive down the mountain and pick up a bag of ice, drive back up the mountain, load up firewood and personally deliver them to us. All without being asked. When I offered to pay him for his troubles, he declined and simply said, "I hope you have a wonderful stay." Needless to say, we had the best time ever. Thank you Ruth and Duey. We will definitely be back.Camp included water and electric.
Jul 10, 2024 · John MillerThis campground is phenomenal. Ruth and Dewey are easy to work with and bring everything to your campground space to sign off on. Local wood is cheap and they will bring it right to your camp area.We have tent camped here and recently upgraded to travel trailer camping. Both experiences were awesome and clean and quiet after hours.I’ve gone three years in a row. It’s a woods setting with a pond for fishing. No wifi though. Sorry. You can text if you have Verizon. AT&T is a no go but it’s not sent different than any other campgrounds around there. Better than DeSoto’s for sure.We like to go caving and water fall exploring here. So many areas to drive out to (around an hour to 1.5 hours out from camp at times and come back here to base camp): Cathedral Caverns in Woodville (Pay tour), DeSoto State Park, Indian Falls, Little River Canyon in Fort Payne, Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden and our favorite, Stephen’s Gap (requires permit and helmet with head lamps, from SCCI). Enjoy!
Jun 11, 2024 · Britton GlennA great campsite with wonderful hosts. I was impressed by how well maintained the campground was! Every guest is welcomed at check in with a local newspaper and brochures for local state parks. Firewood is available for purchase and the owners will deliver it to your campsite for you. This will be my new go-to spot when visiting the area!
