Let's start by saying i did not get kicked out of this facility like most do. I left on my own and sold my camper to the campground it was time for me to go. It literally made me anxious and put me in a bad mood to pull in the gate. I loved the people for the most part, i helped other campers build decks, put up equipment, helped with activities. I was active and helpful with the peers. Now let's get to the review. If you are an overnighter and do not come a lot, no worries, you will be treated like gold (for a while). They like campers that pay monthly rates they make more money that way. Their long-term campers face constant rule changes and rules that are only for certain individuals. It's a constant circus of trying to figure out what will change next. At one point, they were complaining about parking and then told the long-term individuals they needed to figure out how to pay for more gravel for parking. Next, it was "long termers" cannot use the shower houses they are built for overnighters and can varily withstand those (they then put in more spots for monthly rate workers). Conversations ridiculing campers because they didn't purchase a ticket for a cash bash to purchase an AED. Comments made such as "well they didn't pitch in so if they need it guess they are SOL". Belittling people over 50 dollar tickets and trying to get money out of them in other ways, "oh your grass looks high the campground can charge you $50 to mow it." It's actually sickening the things that have gone on to some great people. Over the past 2 years. Its almost like the decisions being made arent based on intelligence or understanding. It seems to be more like a newly found "authority" some think they have and lacked in life prior to the campground. There are some great people who are still hanging on, a few that are fighting back reguarl. I loved it for the first year after that, it become annoying, it became more like a place of drama and more work, it was.no longer relaxing to be there. Peace of mind came when I pulled out.My hopes are Ray the owner, got the packet I sent him with all of the above information and much more i don't believe he knows of most of the issues that are going on. - Bobby Kinnaird

One of the most immediate draws for visitors to Timbered Meadows Association, particularly for those utilizing its overnight camping options, is its undeniable peacefulness. As one grateful traveler recounted, the "tent camping was great. Beautiful green grass way in the back of the park on a nice little fishing pond. Super quiet." This speaks to the heart of what many Illinois campers desire: a calm environment where the sounds of nature can truly be appreciated, free from the incessant noise of urban life. The opportunity to set up a tent by a "nice little fishing pond" adds a picturesque element to the experience, inviting moments of relaxation and simple enjoyment.
