Tifton KOA Journey Introduce
For Georgians seeking a comfortable and convenient escape into the outdoors, the Tifton KOA Journey stands out as a prime destination. Located in the heart of South Georgia, this campground offers a blend of friendly Southern hospitality with the essential amenities that make for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Whether you're an experienced RVer looking for a reliable overnight stop, a family on a weekend adventure, or simply passing through the Peach State, Tifton KOA Journey provides a welcoming environment that caters to a variety of camping styles. It's known for its ease of access and the practical features that ensure a smooth and pleasant experience, making it a favorite among locals and travelers alike.
Tifton KOA Journey prides itself on offering a consistently positive camping experience. Upon arrival, visitors are often greeted by friendly customer service, setting the tone for a pleasant stay. The campground features spacious RV slips that are generally easy to navigate, with many providing the added benefit of shade from large trees and mostly level gravel or dirt surfaces. The essential hookups – 30/50 amp electricity, water, and sewer – are well-maintained and simple to connect, ensuring a hassle-free setup. Campers particularly appreciate the excellent water pressure, often exceeding 60 PSI, and the reliable Wi-Fi, which many guests consider among the best they’ve experienced at any park. Beyond the practicalities, the campground boasts a refreshing pool, a significant plus for cooling off during Georgia’s warmer months. Each site comes equipped with a small campfire ring/grill and a picnic table, perfect for enjoying outdoor meals and evening fires. Additional communal spaces include a large covered picnic area and a central community fire pit, fostering a sense of camaraderie among campers. For those who enjoy a bit of angling, a couple of catch-and-release fishing ponds are located at the back of the property, offering a serene spot to unwind. While the campground offers a superb experience, some guests have noted a particularly strict 5 mph speed limit within the park, enforced by cameras, which can be challenging to maintain. Additionally, the presence of burweed (stickers) in grassy areas can be a minor inconvenience for pets and bare feet. The proximity to a large distribution center also means some truck noise, particularly at night. Despite these minor points, the overall consensus points to a well-maintained park with excellent hosts.

Tifton KOA Journey Reviews
Very friendly customer service. The RV slips are large and easy to pull into, they are mostly well shaded by large trees and mostly level gravel or dirt. The 30/50amp, water and sewer are all well maintained and easy to connect to. Good 60+ psi water pressure. Excellent wifi, among the best I've experienced at any park. There are a few convenience items in the camp store, they also refill propane. Having a pool to dip in and cool off is a huge plus. Each site has a small campfire ring/grill and table. They also have a large covered picnic common area as well as a central community fire pit. On the back of the property there are a couple of catch and release fishing ponds, but it was too hot for us to walk back there and check them out during our stay. The negatives. They have "camera enforced" 5mph speed limit with a steep fine, not sure if that is a joke or not but seeing that was very off-putting. I get it, go slow and drive safe, but it's tough to idle below 5mph, and heck, the lawn mower zipped past me doing at least 10mph. 5mph is too unreasonably slow. The grounds are covered in burweed, if you don't know what that is, it's the little stickers that you get in your feet when walking on lawns that have them. Tried to walk the dog in the dog walk area and she was limping around with multiple burweed stickers in each paw. When I took my shoes off, the bottoms were covered with the stickers too. There is a large target distribution center right up the road, so all day and night trucks are going in and out making lots of noise. The camp toilet and shower facilities are locked and reserved exclusively for tent and cabin campers, which is super inconvenient for the day you leave. I personally like to get my holding tanks flushed and pack everything up then take a quick shower in the camp shower before leaving, especially when it is a humid 100 degrees outside. Solution: swim trunks during prep to hook up and leave, quick cold water rinse at the outdoor pool shower. Still it's a nice camp with excellent hosts, so for me at least, the pros slightly outweigh the cons.
Jun 25, 2025 · Lee SuttonWe have stayed at this CG when passing through a number of times over past 20 years and always enjoyed it. I give only 3 stars because the latest owners have now locked the bath house from RV campers, only available for tenters and cabins 😡 the power at our sight was bad as it would barely start our A/C. will probably not stay here again.
Apr 05, 2025 · Captain DVery nice campground! We stayed here just for an over night. The customer service was great. Good amenities for the whole family to enjoy.
Mar 09, 2025 · Tia ThompsonMore and Diane are the best. We stayed here after evacuating Florida for Huricane Milton. They were able to accommodate us despite being full by quickly fixing and electrical issue that they hadn't planned on repairing because other priority issues. Moe and Diane clearly know how to provide stellar Customer Service. We plan on going back just to get away sometime. I want to fish in the catch and release lake.
Oct 12, 2024 · Ron RenkenWe arrived pretty late after hours, but the owner was very polite to okay our over nite stay. It was very clean and nice to see the parking areas was nicely arranged with picnic tables, fire place, bench swings. It has many amenities, 2 pools, ponds, dog park, baths, laundry and store and propane. Very spacious. We will definitely be back! By the way it use to be a KOA, however we have been in several KOAs on this trip from Florida to New York round trip and this campsite was better than the ones we stayed. Easy to locate not far off from I 75 HWY. I only wish that I had the time to have taken pictures but the ones on their website is pretty accurate.
