This is my second time visiting aThousand Trails park. Reading the reviews, I guess I lucked out and was assigned a spot in the Gold section. The sites in this section are HUGE! The gentleman who greeted me was really nice and friendly and made me feel welcome. While in Acton, my dog and I went hiking at Vadquez rocks and the Devils Punchbowl. We also went to Bloom Ranch and purchased some yummy honey, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate chip cookies. I will back to this Thousand Trails :)

Not what we expected from a thousand trails property. We have stayed at a couple other that were beautiful. This place should be embarrassed. A third of the property looks abandoned and unusable. Upon check in at 12pm, we were advised we have no water till 5pm. We were out of fresh water after 3 prior days in Joshua Tree NP expecting to refill here. Another camper said he was notified the day before about the water, however we recieved no calls, texts or emails to be made aware. We did recieve 3 emails confirming our stay and 2 phone calls asking to become a member, but no calls about the water. 😡The property is run down, poor site numbers and unlevel spaces. Campers are side by side with little room to open slides. We heard the neighbors kids running back and forth in their camper. Water didn't return for 8 hrs, no offer to adjust our rate. I spoke to the office and requested to speak to a manager, she took my number and said Brian would call in the morning. We never got a call. Wifi was an extra cost, no cable TV, no cell service. Tall weeds/grass. RV areas not maintained at all. Would not recommend, very pricy for a disappointing park.

This campground is a complete joke beginning and not limited to the staff. The “assigned site” system they’ve implemented is a wreck, we were placed in a spot where our rig didn’t fit. We were then given the option to go to a site with no septic hookup for 21 days. When we spoke to the manager she blamed the computer system, but the computer knows how big our rig is and how many slides there are so there should have not been an issue. There are no speed deterrents throughout the whole park so people drive 20-30 miles through the park, including the staff in their UTV’s. The gate attendant is never actually attending the gate since he’s napping or on his phone half the time. The staff knock down trees and leave them in 50amp spots for days/weeks in order to hold spots for their friends. I was even told by another guest that they already had their assigned spots picked out for their next 3 stays, yet I can’t even book in for another week. This is not the membership I signed up for, which I signed up at Soledad less than a year ago. The police are constantly being called due to problems at the park because the management has no control or care for the people staying there. If you go complain or give feedback you are then targeted by them and made to feel extremely uncomfortable, including them coming to your site and threatening power being cutoff. This park needs extreme management training or a complete change in management overall.

We’ve been staying at Thousand Trails for a while now, and it’s disappointing to see how much the experience has gone downhill. One of the biggest issues lately is the site assignments — it really feels like we’re being pushed to the edge of the park, regardless of what’s available. It’s frustrating, especially when we know better spots are open.During our most recent stay, we asked to move to a different site — even one with just 30 amps — because our power kept cutting out from the extreme heat. We were just hoping for a bit of shade to help with the situation, but the front desk staff showed no sympathy. The response we got was basically “deal with it.” No effort to help, no consideration for the fact that families are dealing with serious heat and unreliable power.We used to enjoy coming here, but it feels like guest experience is no longer a priority. I really hope management steps up and starts listening to their members again.

I have been coming here for years, but lately, likely due to new management, thing shave changed, yearly member are now treated like second class citizens, when we use to be treated nicely.They no longer allow us to pick our spot to park our trailer, they lie and say it's all booked, when we clearly know it's a lie.They make us park in areas that have no wifi, no space and are in between annoying neighbors.They keep breathing down your neck during your stay now, posting nasty notes and warnings that you will be fined if you leave one minute after 11am, and $100 if you are still there by 1pm.They place is big, it's never full as they now claim. I will not be renewing my membership anymore.
