Thousand Trails Lake Whitney

Campground, Children's camp ★3.0

417 Thousand Trails Dr, Whitney, TX 76692, USA

3.0
We just bought our new RV and were given a complimentary membership to try out. For our first booking we called the (866) phone number to get a Member ID number. We waited over the phone for more than the time was announced we had to wait. So, I picked up my phone and called also thinking it may not take as long while my husband waited on his agent to come to the phone. He finally hung up. An agent came on the line for me after only a few minutes, she was able to get us our member ID number so we could make a reservation. We reserved Member Deluxe RV Site - 30/50 Amp, Full Hook-ups, Back in. We read through the prerequisites of camping at Thousand Trails and basically, they do not allow junky rigs or trailers to stay within TT. When we arrived in Whitney, TX the office staff was friendly and warned us that the roads leading into the camping areas where in "bad shape" and that they had received or maybe were going to receive a bid to get the roads fixed. Boy! They were not kidding. The roads were so horrible. The pot holes were everywhere. This was not enjoyable at all driving to our spot. The camp spot we got to was nice and had lots of trees. However, our Starlink would not work at all among the trees. We checked out the bath/restroom house and it was clean. The children's playground was not mowed and was infested with stickers, so if we had our grandkids, they would not have been able to play in this area. It was a quite the weekend not many people there following weekend after the 4th of July. All this to say, for all the rules TT has they need to get the roads fixed and the main information center building could use a major upgrade. We will not return to TT Lake Whitney with the roads in this bad of shape. It could really damage our new RV. - Jeana Stallons
