While specific details about all services offered by The Jackson Companies are extensive and span various sectors, their role as a developer of residential communities is particularly relevant to many South Carolina residents. Based on available public information, especially customer feedback, their primary services in this area revolve around the development and construction of new residential neighborhoods. It's important to note that the provided customer reviews specifically highlight concerns related to new community development and ongoing management. Therefore, the services offered can be understood in the context of a developer managing the creation of new living spaces and the associated community infrastructure. These services generally include:
- Residential Community Development: This encompasses the planning, design, and construction of new housing developments, such as the Sayebrook community mentioned in the reviews. This involves everything from land acquisition to the final build-out of homes and common areas.
- Infrastructure Development: As part of creating new communities, The Jackson Companies would be responsible for developing essential infrastructure. This includes roads, utilities, and community amenities like pools and sports courts, as seen with the cracked concrete at the pool and the broken pickleball net in the Sayebrook development.
- Home Sales and Property Management Coordination: While they are the developer, they also coordinate with various entities for home sales and, significantly, with Homeowners Associations (HOAs) like Waccamaw Management for the ongoing management of the developed communities. The reviews highlight the critical interface between the developer and HOA regarding resident concerns.
- Post-Construction Issue Resolution: An expected service for any developer, especially in new communities, is the addressing of issues that arise after construction. Customer reviews indicate that this area, particularly regarding communication and accountability for issues like high-speed traffic and amenity maintenance, has been a significant point of concern for residents in their Sayebrook development.
The Jackson Companies, as a significant developer in Myrtle Beach, has several inherent features and highlights that characterize its operations and impact on the local landscape. While some of these are positive attributes common to large developers, it's also important to acknowledge areas highlighted by community feedback.

This extensive local presence suggests a deep understanding of the South Carolina market.
- Large-Scale Residential Developments: A key highlight is their capacity to undertake large-scale residential projects, such as the Sayebrook community. This demonstrates their capability to contribute substantially to the housing inventory and accommodate the region's growing population.
- Development of Community Amenities: As part of their residential projects, The Jackson Companies develops various community amenities, including recreational facilities like pools and pickleball courts. These are intended to enhance the quality of life for residents within their developments.
- Coordination with Homeowners Associations: They engage with and presumably establish Homeowners Associations (HOAs) for their communities, such as Waccamaw Management, to ensure ongoing maintenance and governance of the neighborhoods. This collaboration is a standard feature of modern community development.
- Commitment to New Construction: The company is actively involved in new construction, bringing modern housing options and expanding the footprint of residential living in Myrtle Beach. This commitment helps meet housing demands in a growing area.
- Customer Feedback and Community Engagement (as noted by residents): While not a direct feature the company promotes, a significant aspect highlighted by customer reviews is the collective voice of homeowners regarding communication and accountability in new developments. Residents of Sayebrook have actively sought meetings and expressed concerns about issues such as high-speed traffic, construction quality (e.g., cracked concrete at the pool), and maintenance of amenities (e.g., broken pickleball net). This collective feedback points to the importance of open communication channels and responsive issue resolution as crucial aspects of their operations from a resident's perspective.

The Jackson Companies Reviews
This review is in reference to the fairly new Sayebrook community that The Jackson Companies is developing. The majority of homeowners are displeased with the lack of communication and accountability regarding issues that has risen. As a group, we have requested a meeting with The Jackson Companies & Waccamaw Managment (HOA) and our request was declined. One major concern is the high-speed traffic in the community. Non-resident drivers are blasting through the stop signs with complete disregard. It's highly concerning and our voices are not being heard. There are other concerns as well but this is the most disturbing. Sayebrook residents would appreciate some accountability and communication.
Jul 13, 2024 · Megan DiGregorioAfter careful consideration and plenty of due diligence, I have reached my limit with the Jackson Companies. As I have personally watched the lack of communication, lack of ability to complete a job or respond to an issue in a timely manner with an adequate solution, disappointment is an understatement. Being one of the first to purchase in the development Sayebrook that Jackson Company owns, if I knew this would be the outcome, my decision would be much different if I could go back to April of 2023. The company has zero accountable for any or all of the issues in this new development. It seems when any issue arises, one company pushes it off on the next and no one is accountable. The physical construction and development is sub par, we have a pool that has not been open a year and there is cracked concrete everywhere. We have a pickleball court that one of the nets have been broken since the courts were open, the list could go on throughout the last year of all the issues I have seen, but more importantly the lack of this company to deal with them in a professional and considerate manner. Given this is the beginning stages of a supposed very big neighborhood, the performance of this developer is very scary along with its lack there of to resolve issues.
