The High'D Away Reviews
I spent the weekend here and had a wonderful time! The hosts were super friendly and welcoming; their friends were welcoming which made you feel like family while you stay here! There is tent sites along with camps with and entertainment area where you can play cornhole or listen to band that may come by to play! While I'll was there I explored the area that had beautiful views, streams you could get to to fish or just relax, I found picturesque barns and homesteads along with all the fields. We had a chance to do some fishing with good luck!! If your looking for a simple, friendly place to go, this is definitely the spot!! I will be a returning guest and I am looking forward to my next stay with all the great people I met!!
Jun 03, 2024 · Brooke GingerellaLisa and Skip have a beautiful little campsite. A great community of people, good food, and good times all around. The cabins are very cozy and the beds are super comfy ! We are definitely planning to stay again this summer and possibly in the winter.
May 26, 2024 · Thomas HeniffMy fiancé Heather and I decided to drive up to Northern Maine last minute to watch the eclipse. We reached out to Lisa to see if she had any last-minute available rooms, but she did not, but she did offer for us to come out on the day of the eclipse to watch. And boy are we glad we did! Lisa and everybody else that was there at the camp was so welcoming and warming, Made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to go back here for a Longer stay. Highly recommend booking a room at the High’D Away 😎
Apr 12, 2024 · David HahnIt's not the Beverly Hilton -- but who wants that shmaltzy shtuff anyway? Pssh! Over-rated. The High'D Away cabins are simple, clean and SUPER friendly and chill. When you're here, people you meet for the first time feel like "family" because hey we are all part of a certain family, right? On the other hand, if you want solitude and privacy, that will be respected too.Houlton may not have the eye-popping scenery like the Moosehead Lake region, or the Maine coastal regions, but it IS within easy access of the wondrous Mt Katahdin and all its play areas, as well as many more within a day trip travel away, by vehicle or ATV. After a fun day of playing / hiking / four-wheeling / fishing / kayaking, you can come back to the cabins to a fine, peaceful rest, and chill friendly company. You have access to a full kitchen to cook a great meal, or even throw together a simple sandwich and soup. There are full bathroom facilities as well, also clean. You'll sleep well in the quiet peaceful surroundings, away from light pollution (so many stars!), and the conflicts that arise from the tourist traps that let in too many people in too small an area. This property is also set up for RVs and tent camping as well.My visit to the High'D Away Cabins took place for the Eclipse in April of 2024. I will DEFINITELY be back.
