The Hideout at Glenwood Springs Reviews
We really enjoyed staying here for 5 nights. The property is split up between permanent residence areas and then the lower D lot where there are about 6 spots for shorter stays. Site D-6 is the best. Lots of shade and a pull thru layout for trailers. The property has a creek running right thru the middle and you can hear the trickle from Sites D3-D6. The grounds are very quiet after 10pm.There is a gas station and convenience store within walking distance as well as a local Sushi restaurant that was very delicious. The Clubhouse is nice. Washers and Dryers, and a cozy seating area with a TV. There are also a few hanging maps that were very helpful in maneuvering the many, many bike paths and hiking trails. The Hideout is located right across the street from the bike path that leads to the river, downtown, restaurants, and so much more. This is the perfect location for biking. The Clubhouse also has a coffee station and a few games. Good luck to anyone that can beat my score of 75 on the Pop-a-Shot basketball game!🤣Check in is done mostly online and thru email. The office was open most afternoons but count on your email confirmation for check in instructions, WiFi passwords, door codes, etc.Have fun. This is a great Hidrout in a really cool little Colorado town.
Jun 30, 2025 · Greg MarkeyDisappointing Stay at “The Hideout” in Glenwood SpringsWe spent one night at “The Hideout” campground in Glenwood Springs and were unfortunately very disappointed. The location is somewhat nice – there’s a small creek that adds a peaceful atmosphere – but that’s about the only positive thing we experienced. The picnic area was completely broken and unusable, which was especially disappointing since we were traveling with kids. The electric hookup worked fine, which we appreciated. However, the water hookup is definitely not suitable for continuous use with an RV – more of a temporary solution than a reliable setup. The entire campground looked dirty and run-down. The access bridge was extremely narrow and felt unsafe – definitely a challenge for larger vehicles. On the way to our campsite, there was a huge bump in the road that could easily cause damage to a lower RV or trailer.By far the worst part was the restrooms and showers. They were actually nicely designed and had good layouts, but they were extremely dirty. It was clear they hadn’t been cleaned properly in some time, which really took away from the overall experience. For $75 to $80 per night, we expected much more – especially in terms of cleanliness, safety, and basic maintenance. We felt very uncomfortable staying here and cannot recommend this campground. We will not be returning.
Jul 04, 2025 · Tim WaskowGreat little campsite on our way out to California! It stormed the night we stayed so we got good use of the common room to charge up our phones and hang out! The bathrooms were also very clean
Aug 16, 2023 · Abry WatersThe price was right, and i feel they are trying to work on the place but there is still alot lacking. There is no water or sewer connections at the RV sites, and the showers are "under Construction". I didn't see any construction per se so i can't attest to that. I'd say it's fine for a night but much more than that might be a stretch. In addition, my wife is athletically challengend and she fell of her bike on a small make shift bridge they have set up over a little creek that runs through the property. She fell over the railing and onto a lowered embankment. If she would have fell another foot over to the right she could have been seriously injured. The legal and medical costs for that would me wouldn't be good for us or the RV park! I have to say it's not a bad space they just need to put in some TLC. Oh lastly the Rover registration system is convenient but there is no one running this place. I have yet to see an employee come around, and they have a nice lounge but they have no on site management.
Jul 13, 2021 · Pat MyersOver priced electric tent sites that are packed tightly together. ($50) No rv dumb station or actual water station. Good location next to creek. (when it’s flowing) One restroom in office and a couple portalets. Lots of wildlife for how busy this place is, which was pretty cool. Saw a young bear, raccoons, owl, and trout during our one night stay.
