Located on the tranquil Santa Rosa Sound, it provides a refreshing alternative to the bustling Gulf-front properties, all while maintaining easy access to the region's famous white sand beaches.
The Hideaway Retreat distinguishes itself with its lush, mature oak and magnolia trees, which provide much-needed shade from the intense Florida sun – a feature highly valued by seasoned campers. Beyond the natural canopy, it offers a refreshing escape with its private beach access, a feature that transforms a simple camping trip into a true coastal vacation. Whether you're a long-time RVer, considering renting a vintage camper, or just looking for a peaceful tent site, understanding what makes The Hideaway Retreat special is key to planning your next unforgettable Florida getaway. From its clean facilities to its community-focused amenities, let’s explore why this Navarre campground has become a favorite among locals and repeat visitors alike.
The Hideaway Retreat is a charming and unique RV park and campground located in Navarre, Florida, offering a distinctive "shabby chic" and vintage aesthetic. It’s nestled on the Santa Rosa Sound, providing guests with direct waterfront access and a tranquil atmosphere. Unlike many larger, more commercialized parks, The Hideaway Retreat operates with a boutique feel, focusing on a cozy and intimate camping experience. It accommodates a variety of campers with 50 RV sites, 10 tent sites, and even a unique 1958 Shasta vintage camper available for rental, known charmingly as "Shabby Shasta." Additionally, there's a larger waterfront cottage coming soon, further expanding accommodation options.
The park is highly regarded for its commitment to cleanliness, with consistently praised laundry and bathroom facilities. Its design prioritizes natural beauty, integrating the mature trees for shade and creating a welcoming ambiance with features like string lights and white gravel pathways. While some reviews mention that RV sites can feel a "little small" or "squeezed together," particularly for larger rigs, the overall positive sentiment points to a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The focus here is on relaxation, community, and enjoying the natural surroundings, making it a beloved spot for those seeking a laid-back Florida coastal experience.
The Hideaway Retreat is ideally situated at 9807 Navarre Pkwy, Navarre, FL 32566, USA, placing it in a prime location within the Florida Panhandle. Navarre is often referred to as "Florida's Most Relaxing Place," and this campground truly embodies that spirit. Its position directly on the Santa Rosa Sound provides immediate access to calm, shallow waters, perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking without the strong currents of the Gulf.
Accessibility to the campground is straightforward, located just off Highway 98 (Navarre Parkway), a major thoroughfare connecting the coastal communities between Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach. While it's located directly on this main road, the design of the retreat with its dense tree cover and private entry gives it a sense of seclusion, making it feel "tucked away" from the hustle and bustle.
Beyond its immediate waterfront access, The Hideaway Retreat offers incredible proximity to some of Florida's most stunning natural attractions. The famous Navarre Beach, known for its pristine white sands and emerald-green Gulf waters, is just a short 5-minute drive away. This allows guests the best of both worlds – the calm, protected waters of the Sound at their doorstep, and the magnificent Gulf beaches just minutes away. Additionally, popular local attractions like the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier (one of the longest in Florida), Navarre Florida Watersports for various rentals and activities, and even the Gulf Breeze Zoo are all within easy driving distance. This strategic location ensures that guests can enjoy both the tranquility of the campground and the excitement of the surrounding Emerald Coast.

The Hideaway Retreat Reviews
We really enjoyed this RV park. Not only are the trees very helpful in the hot FL sun but they had all the necessities like laundry showers and a private beach. The location is very shaded and beautiful. The whole camp has a cozy shabby chic design which was lovely, giving all those beach vibes. My daughter loved the camp kitties and made friends with all of them. We would definitely stay here again in the future and would recommend others to stay here too.
Jun 09, 2025 · cassiThe location is great. The private beach is great! There is no fishing pier at this time. The sites for the price are a little small and you do feel like you don’t have your own space with how they have squeezed the sites together. However the park is very clean with an excellent laundry room and clean bathrooms. Not a fan of not having my own fire pit area but we did use the community one a couple times. In all it’s a beautiful campground we will hit up again if ever in the area. 30/50 hookups with sewer!
May 27, 2025 · Dustin JWe recently stated stayed at The Hideaway Retreat for a month, and we had no complaints! The location is wonderful, right on the Santa Rosa Sound and just a few miles from Navarre Beach and the Gulf Islands National Seashore, both of which we spent a lot of time at!Our dogs really enjoyed playing ball every afternoon on the Hidden Beach! This feature was probably as important to us as was the small size and location of the property.I’d have to say that JOEY, the always-friendly maintenance person, was just such a positive presence on the property. I watched him interact with several guests with a BIG smile, a funny word or two and usually a warm handshake! We would definitely stay here again!
Apr 08, 2025 · Kim FrankenWe recently had a fantastic month long stay at Hideaway Retreat. The park itself is beautiful, with mature trees providing ample shade and a picturesque beach just steps away.Joey, the maintenance guy, was a true highlight. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming to us and our kids, even hiding shells on the beach for them to find. This extra touch made our stay even more enjoyable. While navigating our 43-foot fifth wheel through the park required some maneuvering, we were able to do so without issue. We recommend contacting the staff beforehand if you have any concerns about accessibility with larger RVs.Note to future guests: If Angela is still working there, we would look elsewhere. She appears friendly and nice, but she is confrontational and aggressive. Assuming she is gone, we will be back in the future.Overall, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend Hideaway Retreat for a relaxing getaway.
