Campground ★4.0

Unnamed Road, Maybell, CO 81640, USA

4.0
I am usually not a fan of campgrounds, but I liked this one. Most campgrounds these days require reservations and charges for the right to sleep on the ground for the night, but not this one. Since it is so remote we got the whole place to ourselves. It is far enough from the main road that the only sounds you hear are from the critters and the river. There aren’t any lights in the area, so if you are into stargazing you are in for a treat. They have nice fire pits set up so you can cook s'mores if you are into that sort of thing. Or, if you're at all like me, you can forget your grill in them and then not notice until you are camping down the road at Gates of Lodore. But if that does happen to you, it is only like a 30-minute drive each way to pick it up which isn't that bad really, it just means that you eat dinner a little later. - Matt Boyles
