For Montanans, and indeed for anyone drawn to the majesty of Glacier National Park, finding the right basecamp is key to a truly memorable adventure. Sweet Pine RV and Tipi Campground, located in Browning, is just such a place. While it may go by a slightly different name now (formerly Glacier Grizzly Resort- RV & Tipi), its core mission remains the same: to provide a convenient, comfortable, and no-frills launching pad for exploring one of North America's most breathtaking natural wonders. As a professional content writer specializing in local business SEO, I'm here to give you an insider's look at what makes Sweet Pine RV and Tipi Campground a prime choice for your next Montana excursion.
Sweet Pine RV and Tipi Campground is praised not for its luxurious amenities, but for its unbeatable location and the genuine hospitality of the people running it. As one satisfied camper put it, "It’s basically a big gravel lot with full hookups. Nothing fancy, no frills, and that’s totally fine." This honest assessment highlights the campground's strength: it provides exactly what you need to make the most of your time in the Glacier area – a reliable place to "park, rest, and head out every day to see what really matters."
What truly sets Sweet Pine apart is its incredible proximity to Glacier National Park. You are literally "right on the doorstep of Glacier National Park." This means less time commuting and more time experiencing "all the big stuff," from cruising the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road to "swimming in Two Medicine," "dipping in the ice-cold waters of Running Eagle Falls," or even "day-tripping to Columbia Falls, and hanging out at Lake McDonald." This campground is designed for adventurers who prioritize exploration over on-site distractions.
Beyond its strategic location, the campground offers a pleasant surprise in the form of "North Fork Cut Bank Creek right behind the camping area," providing a perfect spot for "cooling off" after a day of hiking or sightseeing. While Wi-Fi might be "spotty," as one reviewer humorously noted, "if you need a solid connection out here, you’re doing it wrong" – a sentiment many Montanans can appreciate when seeking a true escape into the wild. Ultimately, Sweet Pine RV and Tipi Campground earns "Five stars for the people running the place and the killer location," making it a highly recommended spot for those seeking "access to one of the most beautiful places in North America."

Sweet Pine RV and Tipi Campground Reviews
This campground is now called Sweet Pine RV, but I think it was under a different name when we stayed last summer. Doesn’t matter much though, not a lot has likely changed. It’s basically a big gravel lot with full hookups. Nothing fancy, no frills, and that’s totally fine. What makes this place awesome is the location and the folks running it. You’re right on the doorstep of Glacier National Park. We hit all the big stuff, Going-to-the-Sun Road, swimming in Two Medicine, dipping in the ice-cold waters of Running Eagle Falls, day-tripping to Columbia Falls, and hanging out at Lake McDonald. This is the kind of place you park, rest, and head out every day to see what really matters, not sit around at the campground.Wi-Fi was spotty, but honestly, if you need a solid connection out here, you’re doing it wrong. One of the best surprises was North Fork Cut Bank Creek right behind the camping area, perfect for cooling off.Five stars for the people running the place and the killer location. Don’t come expecting luxury, come expecting access to one of the most beautiful places in North America.
