Sunset Rock RV Park Reviews
**It's not mentioned anywhere on the booking site, or posted anywhere at the campground, but weekenders (and seasonal) are not allowed to visit the lake at the neighboring campground anymore. Not for swimming, not for watching the sunrise. I'm not removing any stars because of this; we're just very sad and disappointed. We have been coming to this campground as regular weekenders since our son was 2 and he's now going on 10, and we chose this place because it had both pool and lake access. The owners are very friendly and accommodating (we had a late check-in). Even though we were only staying for the weekend, they made sure to include our son in Camper Halloween. The maintenance on the swimming pool is impeccable; it's very clean. Recent renovations have been done on the bath house by the tent sites, as well as the laundry/restrooms house by the front. Every site, including the tents, has an electrical outlet; super convenient for our son that loves watching movies before bed. A big plus for us was the fire pits. We've been to many campgrounds that just have small, shallow holes in the ground. The ones here are tall, and made with half a metal barrel. We didn't have a picnic table on our site, but we asked at the office in any were available and they brought is one. All in all, we'll definitely be coming back and 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and relax.
Jun 10, 2025 · A 1Nice little family friendly campsite. Right on the Champlane with easy access for swimming and water sports. The camp owners were very welcoming and made you feel like they had known you for years. Camp sites vary in sizes but we were fortunate to get a site at the top of the site where we had plenty of space and privacy.
Jul 07, 2019 · Bryan RodriguezThis is a really nice family-run private campground in a quiet spot. I rode in on a recently bicycling trip and was greeted by a friendly member of the staff. She set me up in a cozy little cabin. The lake is just across the road and the campground has an access point. On the road in, check out the Goodsell Preserve, which has an interesting display about the fossil-filled limestone outcroppings in the area. I actually found some fossils in the rocks near my cabin. Highly recommended.
Jul 24, 2021 · Dave BoneWe spent the first week of July there. Is was sensational. The people were very friendly and helpful. They had a ton of activities for the 4th, including a parade, 2 bands and a fireworks display. Not to mention the food that was there, all included in the package.
Jul 29, 2022 · Rick MarrierI booked two nights at this RV park thinking that it would make for a nice, unique stay, as it's situated on Isle La Motte in Lake Champlain. My mistake. It is really a seasonal park that makes very few concessions to travelers or visitors. Service wasn't there, as the manager was out. Our site was apparently one of just five "traveler" RV sites set away from the seasonal campers down a rough gravel road. The site was grassy, muddy, and extremely unlevel. Hookups were adequate. Firepit was a joke. Amenities are nowhere evident for travelers and there is no campstore. No WIFI, cable, or cell service. It's a long way into town, or anywhere else for that matter. There are many other CG's to stay at in Vermont when we return.
