Summit Campground Reviews
Looked nice but we didn't actually stay in this park. They are establishing grass. So no tents or rugs on the grass. We tent camp, so this wouldn't work for us. We stayed at the other Terrace Parks and had great service and they allowed us on the grass 😉
Jun 20, 2025 · NikcoleThe place is alright. We tent camp, so the review is based on that. We came in later in the day, and the host was helpful and told us where we could stay. We had a van and trailer, so we needed a pull through spot. We stayed in spot 104, which is an end of the row spot, and it was perfect, a lot of space. The bathrooms were clean other than a bunch of dead beetles. The showers were decent size, and the water can be finicky on getting just the right temp, but they work and weren't cold. The kids enjoyed the playground, and it was right by our spot so we could watch them while setting up the tents. This type of campgroud isn't our cup of tea. We prefer more primitive but with all the flooding along the Mississippi River, we played it safe and stuck to high ground and paved roads. The only complaints we had were...1. That we struggled a bit finding gate 5. You have to exit the whole place back on the main road to see gate numbers.2. Our neighbor came out as we had started unpacking our stuff and said, "What time are you guys planning on leaving tomorrow morning? That's my mother-in-law's spot." Check out is at 3 pm, so that was very rude to ask when the spot was open when we got there (the host told us we could use it for the night and we paid). In the morning, he went out and started his truck at 5 a.m., let it run for a few minutes, and then turned it off. He did it again at 6 a.m. and again at 7 a.m. and finally left at 720 a.m.Other than that, it wasn't a bad place. It's not a great spot for tent camping, but it's not bad for a stop over.
Jun 28, 2024 · Laura BellVery nice campground. Asked why the lake was drained and was told it's been at least 2 years dry. Must be something when it is full as the campground was packed with no water in site. One of the nicest parks we've stayed at so far this trip
May 31, 2021 · Julie KirbyGreat camping experience, will hopefully go back someday.
Jun 26, 2021 · Peter RoedVery pleasant place to camp. Great breeze generally, so you can cut back on the ac. Pull thru sites so you don't have to worry about backing in. Water and electric at each site. Newer bath and shower house. Several trails to walk.
