We just got home recently from a great trip during the 4th of July, except for the blood suckers out there! One of us was eaten alive (30+ bites) even with the OFF spray on and in a bug screened canopy tent. The large black and whites were more aggressive, biting early morning and late evening and and the little ankle biters were there too! 🙃 Idyllwild is a great little mountain town to explore. Close to Lake Fulmor, too!The camp host guy is nice, as are his two cats who greeted us!There are no showers at this campground, but you can drive to town (10-15 minutes ) and go to the other state park to use. Need a coin to operate them that you get at that ranger station.Vault toliets you could smell here and there depends on wind. Hand stanizier on outside of them. Saw rangers cleaning a few times. Our site had a good amount of shade versus some did not have much when we explored. A few sites have power, which is nice!Very quite and peaceful. Other campers were respecting hours. No wood fires due to weather (heat wave) and fire danger, but it can vary since there are pits.Water spigots through out grounds.Says bears and rattlers but didn't see them. Some sites had bear cabinets ? But some did not. - Jodi Jackson
