This place is awesome and beautiful! Totally chill place to go to the lake and hang out. Wonderful place to camp and explore. Very clean and nice amenities as well.

We really enjoyed our week long stay at Starkey Campground on Beaver Lake Arkansas. It's off the beaten path but it also means it's quiet and not as crowded.This area is definitely for smaller trailers as the sites aren't designed for large trailers/motorhomes. Majority of the sites are on a steep hill leading down to the lake, therefore be prepared for many sites to be uneven and bring a lot of leveling equipment with you. There are about 7(?) full hookups at the top of the hill with the remaining sites having just electricity and several water spigots throughout the campground. Septic dump and garbage is at the entrance to the campground.Campground has a shower house with two rooms. Water pressure and temp were good but it could use some updating. Bathrooms were just okay. They need to be pumped, deep cleaned and there was so many spiders and other bugs in and around the seats you had to bring towels to wipe them away.We stayed at site 23 and I would say that's probably one of the best sites (that's not full hookup). It's the closest one to the lake. Has a covering over the large picnic table. A water spigot is right across from the site and bathroom access close. The area of the site is large (not the spot for trailer). There is a side access road leading to it so you don't have to drive through the entire campground every time. Sites 16, 21, 22 also seemed to be really nice sites.The shoreline is very rocky so bring water shoes but it's so pretty and if you kayak/boat, an island not far is not far from the shore but be careful because it is a high traffic area especially during the weekends. There is a marina on site but we never did go check it out but several campers were using it for their sailboats and motorboats.Overall a beautiful area with a lot of different wildlife, a couple coves for swimming, nice camp hosts, area is clean and secluded. Close to Eureka Springs and many other fun activities and places.

We camped here for the first time and really liked it. The park is kept clean and while some of the sites are not very level, they are nice with tables, fire rings, and many have lantern hangars. The only downside is that some of the full hookups are not on the best side for your RV/camper. We had to put the electric, water, and sewer under the camper so that the door faced the table, but were able to make it work. The only downside to the electric sites is that you may have to travel or walk a long ways for water. You would think that they would have better access to fresh water. Some sites are close, but of course those are the first to go.There is a lot of wildlife in the area, and the deer visited every evening. We did not have any troubles with racoons or anything else. Plenty of birds and squirrels and bunnies to be seen. Be aware if you plan on kayaking there is no easy way to put the kayaks in. There is a lot of rocks, but we made it work and actually locked our kayaks down with some people that we met close to the lake to save us from pulling them up the hill on the dolly or driving up and down the hill all the time. Great way to lose weight! The gentleman at the gate was nice and made checking in easy. The campground is beautiful and peaceful and the lake is crystal clear and perfect for you swimming and boating needs! The closest place for ice is the marina which is about a mile away, but of course they charge more for it. We recommend the campground and will be back.

Perfect place to stay at that's near Beaver Lake! We stayed for 3 nights at site 22. Its the closest one to the lake, has availability for extension cord, which was essential for charging things. The cool breeze off the lake at night definitely cooled us down. The showers were well maintained and clean. The toilets are what is to be expected, so I recommend taking wipes for the seat. The view is amazing and there's a place for swimming and fishing. The deer were in the campgrounds every single day/night!

The camp pads are pretty narrow. We stayed in #19 and it was not close to level. We couldn't get level, so getting out of the trailer was tricky and cabinets had to be opened carefully. The leaves were all blown into the grass, so the grass wasn't usable to walk through at all for fear of hiding snakes. Strange still having piles of leaves in July; made it seem like little maintenance in the campsite.The woodsy feel was cool and exactly what we were looking for. If the sites were a little more level and maintained, we would stay again. Having the lake close was a bonus.
