Stadig Mobile Park & Campgrnd Introduce
For Maine locals dreaming of a tranquil and genuinely family-oriented camping experience, Stadig Mobile Park & Campgrnd in Wells offers an idyllic escape. Tucked away just off the bustling Route 1, this campground provides a serene "deepwoods atmosphere" that sets it apart from many of the more crowded and commercialized options along the coast. It’s a place where the sounds of nature prevail, and families can truly reconnect without the distraction of loud parties or cramped sites.
Stadig Mobile Park & Campgrnd prides itself on being a "very safe family oriented campground," as highlighted by enthusiastic past visitors. It’s a multi-generational, family-owned establishment, a fact that resonates deeply with Maine values, ensuring a warm and personalized welcome. Unlike impersonal gravel parking lots, Stadig offers "irregular, large, beautifully treed campsites," providing natural shade and a sense of privacy that enhances the camping experience.
What truly adds a unique charm to Stadig is its whimsical touch: numerous statues and "whimsical creatures" scattered throughout the grounds, forming a delightful treasure hunt for younger campers. This creative feature, often praised by families, encourages exploration and adds an element of playful discovery to every stay. For Mainers seeking a clean, peaceful, and truly engaging campground that feels like a home away from home, Stadig Mobile Park & Campgrnd is a cherished destination.
Stadig Mobile Park & Campgrnd is conveniently located at 146 Bypass Rd, Wells, ME 04090, USA. This address places it in the popular Southern Maine region, making it an easily accessible destination for residents throughout the state, as well as those from neighboring New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Its position just off U.S. Route 1 in Wells means it's close enough to enjoy all the coastal attractions without being directly in the midst of the constant traffic and noise.
The campground is praised for its balance of seclusion and accessibility. While nestled "beneath the gentle canopy of a classic Maine forest," it is only "two miles of beautiful ocean beaches," allowing for quick trips to the shoreline. The local trolley route also stops right out front, offering a convenient way to access the beaches and nearby towns like Ogunquit and Kennebunkport without the hassle of finding parking. This feature is particularly beneficial for families and those looking to explore the area sustainably.
Access to the campground is generally straightforward. Reviews mention a paved driveway from the local road off US-1 into the office, followed by a wide main driveway that narrows to a single entry/exit gate controlled by an electronic keycard. While one reviewer noted a "sharp turn" when approaching Bypass Road from the south, this seems to be a minor navigational point. The sites themselves are described as accommodating for various rig sizes, including larger RVs, with staff sometimes guiding campers through trees for pull-through spots. This adaptability ensures that most campers can comfortably access their chosen site.
The campground operates seasonally, typically from Memorial Day Weekend through October 15th, weather permitting. This allows Mainers to enjoy the beauty of Wells and the surrounding region during the prime summer and early fall months, experiencing everything from warm beach days to vibrant autumn foliage.

Stadig Mobile Park & Campgrnd Reviews
This is a very safe family oriented campground. You will not need to suffer through drunken parties with loud music. Thank goodness it has irregular, large, beautifully treed campsites, not a gravel parking lot. It also has numerous statues and whimsical creatures which form a treasure hunt for young campers. I really love this place.
Oct 13, 2023 · KateStayed here two weeks ago.. Maybe it was three.. but my family of four absolutely loved it here! The owner is friendly, and I enjoyed his sense of humor. The campground is clean, and peaceful. We had the best time! The kids had fun with the scavenger hunt. I hope to find the beaver next time! Lol. The price to stay was very reasonable! Especially compared to other campgrounds in the area. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks for having us, Stadig Campground!
Aug 09, 2022 · kristen ChildsBy far the worst campground I’ve ever been, first of all they wouldn’t let us in because we were going to arrive after the 9:30 curfew, even though we advice them that we were too far to arrive on time, they let us stay on the front yard by the road for the same price saying that they were trying their best to be kind. Also saying that we should’ve known the rules if we would have visited their website.Second day we checked in and said that we had guest coming over, but when we all arrived after our dinner at 9:45 our guests got savagely escorted to leave the place immediately or the police would come. After talking with the owners the next day they still wouldn’t let our guest come for the whole stay saying that they were really not welcomed here. (Although they have a huge poster Bienvenu Canada)For the rest of it everyday the owner was driving his golf cart to our site and was being very rude at us for any stupid issues. We really felt spied like it was Big brother watching us. However, if it wasn’t for the staff the campsites were very pretty and (strangely) very quiet, but the bathrooms were very awkward and not so clean.Owners if you’re reading this I hope you will find the love that you need in your life and the strength to forgive people.
Aug 16, 2023 · Francis de MontignyI called today and wanted to go there tomorrow with my popup! I’m a local and I do work full time, but wanted to take my son camping! They were for us making a reservation until I said I keep to myself and work during the day. They basically accused me of being a transient! All because I work! So let me get this straight, I wanted to camp for a few weeks and still work so I don’t lose money, but that’s not okay! I’ll take my money elsewhere! Rude as hell!
Jul 15, 2023 · Chantel MarieI ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place...let's start with the bathrooms, they are CLEAN and when you take a shower the water is actually HOT... the landscaping and cleanliness of the sights are wonderful, the nature feel is amazing. EVERYONE that you come in contact with is friendly and always offer a wave. It's peaceful... The owners are great people, easy to talk to and down to earth, you can tell they take pride in this establishment... you can't beat the rates... honestly in my opinion best hidden campground in Wells, if you don't want to drive in the nasty traffic the Trolley will pick you up right out front
