Introduction / Overview
Spirit Of Ripley Campground is a newer RV-specific campground located in Litchfield, Minnesota, established around 2017. It differentiates itself by offering only full hookup sites, catering specifically to recreational vehicle owners seeking comprehensive utility access during their stay. The campground is noted for its relatively open layout and level sites, providing ease of setup for a variety of RV sizes, including larger rigs. Its design emphasizes functionality and affordability, providing a practical base for exploring the surrounding area.
While the campground maintains an independent operational style, with owners/managers not always on-site, it is designed to be largely self-sufficient for campers. This approach contributes to its reasonable pricing. It's situated near Lake Ripley and its associated county park, offering convenient access to public amenities like restrooms and recreational areas. The focus of Spirit Of Ripley Campground is to provide a no-frills, efficient, and comfortable experience for RVers who value full hookups and a strategic location for their outdoor pursuits in the Litchfield area.
Location and Accessibility
Spirit Of Ripley Campground is precisely located at 25169 CSAH 1, Litchfield, MN 55355, USA. This address places it just outside the main hub of Litchfield, in Meeker County, providing a balance of convenient access to town amenities and a more rural, open setting. Its position on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 1 indicates straightforward road access, suitable for all types of RVs and towing vehicles.
A significant aspect of its location is its proximity to Lake Ripley. The campground is situated "across the street" or "directly across the road from Lake Ripley County Park." This means that while not directly on the lake, campers have very easy walking or biking access to the lakefront, public beach, and other facilities within the county park. For Minnesota locals, Litchfield is approximately 60-90 miles west of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, making Spirit Of Ripley Campground a feasible destination for weekend getaways or longer stays without extensive travel. The relatively flat terrain and open layout of the campground itself contribute to ease of access and maneuverability for RVs within the park.

Spirit Of Ripley Campground Reviews
Since the owners /managers of the campground are not on site most of the time there was a lack of communication about lots of things but everything eventually worked out. It is a pretty new campground and the sites are pretty level but very open. We went to motorcycle and the riding in the area is beautiful. If it's important to you the nearest restrooms are in the county park across the street and there is no shower house here at this point. This is a full hookup only campground, but the price is pretty reasonable.

Jul 05, 2018 · Kris HansonNice little campground, but very few trees and no restroom or showers here. There is a restroom across the road at a park though. They do have full hook ups here, power, water and sewer.

Sep 27, 2023 · Jim HagemeyerLet me start off by saying, Dale seemed so pleasant to speak with in the beginning. Seemed very accommodating due to my husband's work schedule. On 04/15 I called to make the reservation for a wk before memorial day. This is for 3 sites. As it is a work crew. On 04/17, I called & gave Dale my credit card info for reservations 2 of the spots. Unfortunately, I had to call on 04/27 to change the reservation dates bc the work schedule had changed putting us arriving in Minnesota at sometime between the middle to near end of June. He changed reservation til June 15 thru the 30. Told me to call back if anything changed. Well, things definitely changed. Now we wouldn't be arriving until the 27th of June. He said he didn't have spots for us until the afternoon of July 4th. I asked to make sure he'd definitely have spots that afternoon being that it's the 4th. He confirmed he would. So I made hotel reservations from 27th til the 4th. Dale said he had a spot to store our rv while we were at hotel or at the other campground he recommended. On 06/22, he said he had to spots open up so we wouldn't have to wait until the 4th. Awesome. We canceled our hotel reservations. Today, 06/24, we told us that he wouldn't have spots until after the 10th. You see, we needed extended lodging due to the job being 6-8 wks long. The guys work 7/12s weather permitting. So we can't move the rv every 2 wks like we'd have to at other parks. Not only was the reservation a cluster. But apparently the shower house that would be built by the time we arrived doesn't exist. Also, he said 700 for monthly rates knowing one of the RVs had 2 ac units. Now, that rate has changed. I'm not sure if Dale is just an idiot or possibly suffering from onset of dementia. He stated that we haven't spoke recently or that I never gave him my credit card information. I offered to send him a screenshot of our call log.He said he'd go back to the office to check. I told him he was very unorganized & unprofessional.UpdateYou never asked for a deposit. And they were content. Regardless, I don't recommend anyone deal with Dale.

Apr 04, 2022 · Krissy SmithWe really enjoyed the entire weekend. It is about an hour and 40 minutes from our home and will be returning there soon. Even bringing guests with to try it out with their rv. Very quiet, lake across the road, bike trails, golf course nearby. Something to do for everyone. Highly recommend to everyone.
Aug 26, 2020 · Tamara RihaMy family loved this campground! Clean, quiet, and right next to the lake. Within minutes from stores and Wal-Mart. The campground owners are super friendly and properly maintain the grounds at all times. I would come here every year if I could!
