Whether you're planning a weekend fishing trip, a family camping excursion, or just a quiet day by the water, understanding what Spadra Park has to offer will help you make the most of your time in the beautiful Clarksville area. It’s a testament to how close Arkansans are to incredible natural landscapes, even with urban comforts nearby.
Spadra Park is strategically located at Jamestown Rd, Clarksville, AR 72830, USA. This address places it directly on the shores of Lake Dardanelle, a prominent impoundment of the Arkansas River. Clarksville, the county seat of Johnson County, is a vibrant community that serves as a gateway to the Ozark Mountains to the north and offers easy access to Interstate 40, a major east-west artery across Arkansas.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Spadra Park's location is its incredible accessibility. As noted by visitors, it's "like 5 minutes from the highway and a Walmart but feels like another world." This proximity to Interstate 40 means that for Arkansans traveling from Little Rock, Fort Smith, or other parts of the state, reaching the campground is remarkably straightforward and efficient. You can transition from a busy highway to a peaceful lakeside retreat in a matter of minutes, which is a significant convenience for weekend trips or longer vacations.
The presence of essential services like a Walmart nearby is a huge plus for campers. It means you don't have to pack every single item from home, and forgotten necessities or fresh groceries are just a short drive away. This blend of remote tranquility and urban convenience is a rare and highly valued feature for local users. Despite being close to town amenities, the park manages to maintain a secluded and serene atmosphere, thanks to its layout and natural surroundings.
The local road, Jamestown Road, provides direct access to the park entrance. Very clean campsites with terrific views of the water! Two boat launches at opposite ends of the campground, playground and large covered picnic area. Peaceful ✌️
Jan 26, 2025 · Danyelle WarnerGreat little place to get away for a weekend. Crazy how it's like 5 minutes from the highway and a Walmart but feels like another world. The showers and bathrooms can be a bit of a walk from some spots. The train wasn't a problem, never even woke us up.
Jun 04, 2024 · Zach FerrisNeeded a place to stop for the night/morning while traveling cross country in our RV. It was like 2am when we arrived, so didn't want somewhere we had to check in. Found this park while sitting at a nearby gas station, did the online reservation for $16, and parked at D5. Woke up to a GLORIOUS sight and absolutely perfect weather. This has been the nicest random overnight stop during our journey, saving for all future trips through AK!
Sep 14, 2023 · Dani RogersBeautiful morning views here. There is a train track that runs adjacent to this park so if you don't want to hear a train roaring through multiple times during the night then I don't recommend this park. The restrooms have showers and the campsites have electric. Besides the train, this park is peaceful.
Sep 20, 2022 · Natasha CoxseyWOW- breathtaking- clean- peaceful Forrest. If you ever want to just breathe in such calmness make sure you take a walk down this trail. It's so calm I got to see dear crossing my path and it also takes you right into the little town of Clarksville.
