Sherwood Forest Campsite Reviews
Despite the cold and the rain this was one of our best camping experiences! The hosts were incredible and helped us settle in making sure we had what we needed to stay warm and cozy. Hearing the ocean at night was so relaxing. Our site was quiet, and well protected by the trees. The whole area was clean and well cared for. We would recommend anyone to stay at Sherwood if they're on the midcoast.
May 26, 2025 · Samantha FieldsThis was our second time visiting, and it didn't disappoint! The person checking us in was super friendly and helpful. We camped in a tent site, so I can't speak to the RV's, but our site was fantastic, and you didn't feel like you were too close to your neighbors. There was running water at our site, and you can choose to have electricity or not. There was a clean outhouse nearby for convenience, but nicer, very clean bathrooms and showers a short walk away. The showers are 25 cents for five-minutes, which is more than enough for us. And the beach is a super nice, short walk down a cute path. Great sunsets on the beach!
Oct 07, 2024 · Clifford TremblayI highly recommend this campground. The staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed alone for 3 weeks this summer in a tent and felt perfectly safe. The walk to the beach is a dream and the sunsets are spectacular. There are plenty of showers available and they play my favorite radio station in the bath house. I look forward to seeing the staff and some of the camper residents again next year. It feels very much like a nice neighborhood, you feel right at home. Excellent vibes so check it out and I will see you there! Thank you!
Nov 20, 2023 · Ellen LordWill definitely be back! It’s a great base for exploring the surrounding Maine Coast. I was tent camping, and I could hear the ocean waves as I fell asleep. There’s also a great field for stargazing right at the tent sites. Convenient, quiet, friendly, and safe.
Aug 07, 2023 · Chloe SchneiderWe had a nice 3 day stay at Sherwood Forest. There are lots of seasonal sites there, and during the week it was peaceful and quiet. However, on Friday night there were more campers and kids, so it got a little noisier, although we slept just fine. Bath house is clean and the piped music a nice touch. Our site was level, but backing in took a few attempts due to the trees. The are no sewer hookups, but there is a dump station on site, and a honey wagon can be pre-booked for a nominal fee. Walking distance to Pemaquid lighthouse snd beach, but you have to pay to get in.
