Shawnee Forest Campground Reviews
An overall excellent campground! Beautiful setting. Right outside of the rear window of our RV was a gorgeous pond with egrets feeding along the shore and frogs singing at night. Before being a campground, it was a golf course. The cart paths are still there and provide excellent paths for walking without fear of picking up ticks. The park is pet friendly, which is a must for our family(2 dogs). My wife uses a mobility scooter, so the pathways made it easy for her to see more of the campground. Our first night, the air was so calm that the pond was like a mirror and made for fantastic pictures. Be sure to watch for the turtles that live behind the picturesque bridge. We counted at least 6 of them. The staff was fantastic! Extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay. Not only was it beautiful, but the WiFi was excellent. We would absolutely stay there again. We would rate this campground in our top ten all-time favorite! And we travel in our RV a lot.
May 23, 2025 · Roger EngelbartUnique campground in that it is on a former golf course. Has the old golf cart paths as walking/biking paths! The sites are spacious and have picnic tables and fire rings. Full hookups is a plus. Super convenient to 24 but not too close that it is loud. There is no playground or pool. The sites are loose gravel and not level front to back, so you need to unhook. No biggie. It's a pleasant place overall. The camp host is a sweet older woman.
Jun 17, 2025 · Greg ScottVery nice campground and I applaud the lovely owner for offering EV charging at a fair rate, I would like to apologize for flooding your laundry room, we loved your campground and we will definitely be back again. Nice shade trees throughout the campground no desserts I especially enjoyed the hiking trails and picking some blackberries on the trail.
Jun 28, 2025 · Jonathan BabiloniaVery nice & caring people with a really nice camping area. All around 5 star only because I can't give them more. Never hesitate about staying here.
Jun 30, 2025 · CliffandMegan KorteVery reasonably priced and conveniently located just off the interstate, this golf course turned campground is a true gem. Lots of open grass areas, woods, ponds, and a walking trail made this place fun to explore for the kids and dogs alike. We didn't use the showers, but the laundry area was very nice and clean. The staff was amazing, was very accomodating and made us feel welcome.
