Shady Grove is pleasantly situated at 42310 Co Rd 27, Coshocton, OH 43812, USA. This address places it in the heart of Coshocton County, a beautiful rural area in east-central Ohio renowned for its picturesque landscapes, agricultural heritage, and serene waterways. For Ohio residents, its location offers excellent accessibility, providing a convenient escape from urban areas while feeling truly immersed in nature.
A significant highlight of Shady Grove's location is that the "river runs beside it." While the specific river is not explicitly named in the provided information, Coshocton County is traversed by several rivers, including the Muskingum, Walhonding, and Tuscarawas, all of which offer scenic beauty and recreational opportunities. This riverside setting is a major draw, providing campers with tranquil views, potential for fishing, or simply the calming sound of flowing water.
The campground's address on County Road 27 indicates it's likely located off main thoroughfares, contributing to its noted quiet atmosphere, yet remaining easily reachable via well-maintained county roads. Coshocton, the nearest larger town, offers local amenities, shops, and attractions, ensuring that campers have access to necessary supplies and a touch of local charm when needed. This blend of rural tranquility with practical accessibility makes Shady Grove an ideal choice for Ohioans seeking a peaceful and convenient outdoor retreat.

For a beloved local campground like Shady Grove, which is noted for its "cheap rates" and consistent value, traditional, widely advertised "promotions" or "special offers" might not be their primary marketing strategy. Instead, their appeal often lies in providing excellent, consistent affordability and a high-quality, well-maintained experience year after year.
However, for Ohio locals looking to maximize their value or find the best booking options, here are some general points to consider and inquire about directly:
- Inherently Affordable Rates: Given that reviews explicitly mention "the rates are cheap," the campground may simply maintain a very competitive pricing structure across the board, making it an excellent value proposition without needing specific "discounts."
- Extended Stay Value: Many campgrounds offer slightly reduced per-night rates for longer stays (e.g., weekly or monthly rates). If you plan a more extended visit, it's always worth asking if such options are available.
- Off-Peak Season Advantages: While not a discount, camping during the shoulder seasons (early spring or late fall) often means fewer crowds and an even quieter atmosphere, enhancing the peaceful experience Shady Grove is known for. This can be considered a value in itself.
- Group Gathering Rates: Since the campground is highlighted as a "great place for even my bigger extended family to have get togethers," it's certainly worth inquiring if they offer any special rates or block booking advantages for larger family or group gatherings.

May 15 · PJ RIt's very family and pet friendly! The rates are cheap. It's always clean. Grass is always cut nicely. Ron, the manager, is very helpful and nice. The river runs beside it. They have cabin rentals, places to pitch a tent or park a camper. Mt family camps there once a year!
July 09 · Renee EldridgeGood place to getaway for the weekend cheap if you are tenting. $10 per night, 2 adults, extra per adult after, no electric spots. They do have camper cabin with a full size bed (no linen), electric, mini fridge, and heater. Needs updated bad. They do not typically allow tents by the cabin, but allowed us so my dad, who has stage 4 lung cancer, could use the cabin and we be with him. The cabin rents out for $25 per night.
June 09 · Kayla “KayBug” WalkerVery great place to set up camp. Ron, the manager, very good person. Has a way of making you feel at home, like you’re part of the family. Stay there during hunting season and it’s very quiet, just a great place to be. Very affordable.
