Boat Transportation: Transportation to and from Sandy Island via boat/ferry from the mainland parking area (North Woods) is included with tuition, adding to the unique island experience.

Sandy Island Family Camp, operated by the Greater Boston YMCA, has a structured pricing system, often based on weekly sessions during the summer. While general "promotions" in the typical commercial sense (like discount codes) are less common for an established, highly sought-after family camp, they do offer valuable programs and features that act as special offers, particularly for New Hampshire families and those needing assistance:
Tiered Pricing by Session and Age: Tuition varies by session length (e.g., full weeks vs. weekend retreats like Father's Day or Labor Day) and by age group (e.g., adults, seniors, children 9-16, children 6-8, and often free for younger children). This tiered structure allows families to choose the option that best fits their budget and schedule.
All-Inclusive Tuition: The tuition itself is a major benefit, as it includes not just accommodation but also boat transportation, all meals, and access to a wide array of activities. This comprehensive package represents significant value and a stress-free budgeting approach for a family vacation.
Financial Assistance (YMCA ACCESS Program): A crucial offering from the YMCA is their ACCESS program. This allows families who cannot afford the full tuition to qualify for reduced rates, sometimes up to 50% off, based on income and family size. This demonstrates the YMCA's commitment to making the camp accessible to all, regardless of financial ability. New Hampshire families are encouraged to contact the YMCA business office for details on applying for financial assistance.
Returning Camper Priority/Waitlist: While not a discount, the system for returning campers and maintaining waitlist positions (often with a small annual fee) acts as a "promotion" of loyalty, ensuring that families who love the camp have a better chance to secure their preferred week year after year. Booking early, especially for popular weeks like Labor Day, is a common practice among returning families.
For the most accurate and up-to-date pricing, session dates, and information on financial assistance, New Hampshire residents should visit the official Sandy Island Family Camp section on the YMCA of Greater Boston's website or contact their business office directly. Planning ahead is key to securing a spot at this beloved family camp.

Sandy Island Family Camp Reviews
Run by Greater Boston YMCA, Sandy is a family camp. Park over at North Woods and take a boat over for a week, Saturday to Saturday. There are cabins for 2-6 people, family dining in mess hall. Showers here, plenty of panned events. Often same families come year after year same week.
Aug 23, 2024 · SteveGreat family camp ground. The organizers take great care to ensure everyone's safe and happy. I was there for an annual Tai Chi camp with 49 other students. The camp has been held at this location since 2011.
Sep 18, 2022 · Tony CoatesOur church group opens the season every year on Memorial Day weekend before the camp is in full swing, do I can’t speak to programs. The setting , staff, and food are all fantastic! Great kayaks and canoes. The cabins are rustic but great, though the beds are a bit firm if you have an old body. Bring a pad!
May 28, 2019 · Kevin OsbornSituated on their own private island in the middle of one of New England's largest clear water lakes. Very rustic. No tenting, cabins only. Meals are included; basic non-fancy cafeteria style for the most part. But that means NO DISHES! They have a large variety activities for everyone. They also have weekday morning programs for the pre-teens, which lets parents start their days with a little kid-free time. This is the best family camp in New England, maybe even the best in the US, perhaps even the world. If you can find better, it won't be by much.
Aug 13, 2023 · David RobbinsSandy Island is absolutely wonderful. You can't just visit the place, you have to book it and usually with a group I think. It's owned by the YMCA. We go here with our church the group every fall and absolutely love it!
