San Elijo State Beach Campground Reviews
My favorite part of the year was coming here. Affordable. Clean. Friendly. Great little town that surrounds this gorgeous campground. I will try to reserve a spot every single year if I can. You have to pay for parking daily if you are a guest. You have to get tokens to shower. That was the only rough part, but the view and the ocean make it worth it. The drive from Tucson to here was heaven. Not crowded.
Jun 10, 2025 · Courtnee NoblesseThis is one of my favorite places to camp that allows you access to plenty of places to walk to have dinner, shopping, etc. There’s some cons of course. Mostly the freight trains that come roaring right by the campsite. Even ear plugs won’t prevent you from being woken up if you’re near the road adjacent to the tracks. With that said, I would still come back here as it’s a beautiful area and the campgrounds are pretty well maintained.
Apr 09, 2025 · Justin DSan Elijo is one of our families' favorite campgrounds. The location is beautiful and centrally located to great food options if you dont feel like cooking. Be sure to watch check the tide chart. On a negative tide, there is plenty of creatures to find.
May 13, 2025 · Cory KadingI had a family reunion and camped here that night. I drove right in at 11pm and security was immediately on me and followed me to my site in their vehicle. I actually liked that part and the fellas were friendly and were just making sure I wasn't a hoodlum. These campsites are extremely close together and were in the zone to be heavily impacted by the train on and off throughout the night. It was loud, as well with people walking around and jogging really early before the sun was up. The facilities and grounds were clean and orderly. The convenience of this campground was alluring to me. After staying here, I'd pick somewhere else if I was wanting peace and quiet and space or if on vacation. Thank you for having me.
Jan 16, 2025 · Brandon TrustGreat spot to camp for a day or two, prices are moderately affordable depending on the spot you select, premium spots being around $75 per night. Dump station for $10 and potable water area is available, restrooms and also token showers which are $1 for 2 minutes. (Token machine is at the office, not one located at the actual showers). Highly recommend this location, it’s very conveniently located to tons of restaurants, shops and night life while also feeling very peaceful and relaxed around the ocean. 🌊
