Salinas / Monterey KOA Introduce
For Californians seeking a well-equipped and activity-rich basecamp to explore the iconic Central Coast, the Salinas / Monterey KOA offers a familiar and convenient option. Positioned strategically to provide access to both the agricultural heartland of Salinas and the world-renowned attractions of Monterey Bay, this KOA aims to deliver a comfortable and engaging camping experience for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. It’s a place designed to make your California coastal adventures as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, with a range of accommodations and amenities right at your fingertips.
However, recent customer feedback suggests a significant concern regarding customer service, particularly concerning the park's policy on the age and appearance of RVs. One customer reported a "worst customer service experience in my entire life," being denied an additional night's stay due to their 1993 fifth wheel being deemed "too old" and not fitting in with other RVs, despite no explicit rule about RV age in the corporate guidelines. This individual felt embarrassed and disrespected, especially given their professional background and the fact they were using the RV for moving. This highlights a need for potential visitors, especially those with older RVs, to confirm specific park policies directly and potentially in writing, to avoid similar unfortunate situations. It underscores the importance of clear communication and respectful treatment in the hospitality industry.
Conversely, other reviews paint a much brighter picture, focusing on the positive aspects of the campground experience. Many families "loved having our family reunion here," praising the "amazing," "helpful and kind" staff. The "super cute cabins" and "lovely pool with nice new chairs and tables with umbrellas" are frequently highlighted as enjoyable features. Positive feedback consistently mentions the staff being "super friendly and attentive," "awesome," and going "above and beyond." Campers appreciate the "cleanliness of the campground" and the "different activities that were offered," including a "private train ride" that created cherished memories. Families with young children particularly enjoy the playground, train, and "sandy beach area," noting that the improvements made over the years are significant. This mixed feedback suggests that while the park offers many desirable amenities and activities, and generally friendly staff, there may be inconsistencies in policy application or individual staff behavior that potential guests should be aware of.

Salinas / Monterey KOA Reviews
I’ve been staying at KOA since I was a little girl. I stayed the last two nights at this KOA and I have to tell you are the worst customer service experience in my entire life this morning. So I’m moving from San Juan Bautista to Aptos, and we spent the night at this KOA and decide to spend one more night, and I was told this morning when I went to see if the spot was available that it was not asked if I could move to another spot because my husband is ill and didn’t feel like doing the rest of our move today. I was told that my fifth wheel looked too old and didn’t fit in with the other RVs and trailers in the park. So they would not rent to me another night I went and checked all of the rules. There’s nothing that says anything about your make of an RV mine is a 1993. I even went so far as to call the corporate office and ask them about this and they have no specific rule about this but all of these Cowboys are franchise so they can’t enforce any kind of like customer service upon them. These people are so Adaline they are so rude they assume because my RV is a 1983 I guess that I live in it and I’m homeless which Is not the case, although even if it had been, it shouldn’t matter. The fact of the matter is, my husband is a contractor and I’m a lawyer and we used our fifth wheel to move our stuff instead of renting a moving truck. I will never in my life, estate of KOA Campground, anywhere again because of their customer service. I wish I hadn’t paid cash because I would’ve stopped payment on my credit card. That’s how bad I was treated it was so embarrassing especially because this KOA was by far not the nicest one I’ve ever stayed at and no where close to 5 star hotel where they had a reason to be that snotty to their customers. The manager, who is the older, blonde haired gentleman should be fired, especially because he didn’t come talk to me himself. He had a very embarrassed employee tell me that my trailer was ugly basically. Get some professionalism. Most definitely get some humble pie because it’s a KOA in Prunedale California. You don’t have it like that to be so disrespectful and rude. I’ll be moving on with my sick husband to my new house in Aptos. Thank you.
Dec 11, 2024 · Jessie B.We really loved having our family reunion here. The staff are amazing So helpful and kind. The cabins are super cute. The pool is lovely. Nice new chairs and tables with umbrellas. My only complaint is our door to the cabin kept getting stuck when open and close it.
Aug 11, 2024 · Laura RinkorThe rv sites are extremely small, our awning touches the other site and your neighbors door faces your door. The bathhouse was clean but the showers are very tiny and not wheelchair/ stroller accessible. The women’s only one shower had a working lock. Homeless walk around and it’s connected to a trailer park. The playground is very dirty, I would think they could power wash it. It is next to a very busy road so it’s noisy but very close to a store and McDonald’s. The manager is not very friendly but the works are nice and overall not somewhere we would return.
Dec 04, 2024 · Casey MarshallNice staff, super clean bathrooms, but only 2 showers and 2 stools (well, double it, 2 for men and 2 for women) for the whole park. We have a tiny trailer, no bathroom. The bathroom was spot clean though and almost 4 min walking distance. But the freeway was loud! The location is good. If you don't mind the freeway noise (not only cars, but sirens) and have a RV with a bathroom, I think the place would work for you. Otherwise look for another place
Sep 22, 2024 · Danielly PrestesBooked this site in May for August 31. They called me a week prior to ensure I had the right vehicle to use the site. They asked if it was a camper van. I’m taking my first van trip and said yes it is, it doesn’t have sewage but there are electricity hookups. They said no problem. I showed up and they wouldn’t let me use the site I paid for 4 months in advance. And they did practically nothing to help me find somewhere to stay aside from give me 2 phone numbers. Bad customer service. And honestly the actual camp sites location isn’t even good. If you have a camper van don’t waste your time. You’ve ruined the first night of my vacation.
