Saddlebag Campground Reviews
Did you know that this campground is the highest camping spot in the United States. Our camp host gave us little information about this place and it was nice to be here. While we were there, it was still snow in the mountains and the view of these mountains are amazing. Here is the fun fact, the road of this place is half paved half is not paved. You are going up to 10400 feet according to our camp host. Please be careful while going on this campground because there are no service for you to call somebody to help.I loved this place and it was very relaxing. We did not have any bear come and visit us but our camp host said that they usually do not come here. The restrooms are clean and smell nice surprisingly. There is a lake close by but going there is little rough. Fresh air and beautiful scenery!!!
Jul 23, 2024 · Hatice KacerAmazing camping spot. There is 3 or 4 bear boxes, a few picnic tables, 3 grills, a bigger than normal fire ring, and we comfortably fit 4 medium sized tents with room to spare. The spot provides a partial view of the lake (campground sits higher than the lake). It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the lake where you can fish or hike around the lake, or hike to the far end of the lake to reach Twenty Lakes Basin Loop Trail, which I recommend. The restroom is very close to the campground. The only negative is there's a parking lot for day use really close to the campground, and there are vehicles arriving and departing at all hours in the day (and at night sometimes), however there are trees between the parking lot and campground which provides some privacy.
Jul 10, 2018 · Daniel PadronGreat campground to use for staging before backpacking north of the lake or into Yosemite. The campground hosts are friendly and excellent and the folks in the diner make great food. They sell firewood down at the diner.
