Riverview Campground (recgovnpsdata) Introduce
Welcome, fellow adventurers and nature lovers! If you're looking for a peaceful and scenic escape from the everyday hustle, we'd like to introduce you to a true Arizona gem: Riverview Campground. Nestled in the stunning landscape of Safford, Arizona, this campground offers a unique and authentic outdoor experience. Unlike commercial resorts, Riverview Campground provides a genuine connection with nature, making it a perfect spot for those who appreciate rustic charm and breathtaking views. Whether you're a seasoned hiker, a family looking for a weekend getaway, or simply someone who wants to unwind under the stars, this is a destination worth considering. Its location in Graham County, managed by the Safford Field Office, places it within easy reach for many residents of southeastern Arizona, offering a convenient yet secluded retreat. The campground is well-regarded for its quiet atmosphere and spectacular vistas, particularly of the surrounding river and mountain ranges. It’s a place where you can disconnect from technology and reconnect with the natural world, all while enjoying the simple pleasures of camping.
Getting to Riverview Campground requires a bit of an adventurous spirit, and it's essential to be prepared. The campground's address is Safford Field Office, 711 14th Ave, Safford, AZ 85546, USA, but it's important to note that this is the field office address, not the direct campsite location. The campground itself is situated on a road that is known to be windy and steep, and in some parts, it's not wide enough for two vehicles to pass easily. Portions of the road, particularly the last half-mile leading into the campground, are gravel and can be washboarded. For this reason, visitors with large or long RVs are strongly advised to reconsider their travel plans or proceed with extreme caution. The journey to the site is part of the experience, but it’s crucial to use caution and consider using four-wheel drive if available to help maintain the road's condition. While it may present a challenge for some vehicles, the stunning views and peaceful environment that await you at the end of the road are well worth the effort. The accessibility, while a point of consideration, also contributes to the campground’s secluded feel, ensuring a less crowded and more intimate camping experience. Plan your route carefully and you'll be on your way to a memorable stay.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great dispersed camping. DO NOT drive a large/long rv to this place. We did and won't be ever again. Road is to narrow and steep. Thankfully/carefully made it in and out. BlM does not share enough information on this campground. We had an awesome time and will be back in our smaller RV. Days we're warm in 70s nights were chilly in 40s. A bit windy. Views were great I highly recommend for hikers and explorers. There are vault toilets, water spigot, no electricity, no dump station. It does have fire pits, grills, shade structure, picnic tables.
November 26 · Diana De La OWe love this campground, but those pulling trailers should certainly take into consideration previous reviews. The road is windy and steep and not two vehicle widths. The last 1/2 mile into the campground is gravel and there is a steep hill going down into the campground that is washboarded. As for the actual campground, they have just replaced the campsite amenities with all new equipment (Charcoal grill, fire pit and shade structure) which is lovely. They have potable water available randomly throughout the campground, but none at the actual campsites. Pit toilets are kept clean by staff, but this year they seem to be having a fly problem. It’s a bit overwhelming, all the flies in and around the pit toilets. The are garbage bins for you to put your garbage, that are emptied regularly by park staff. Please be kind to the road when coming in and out. If you have 4 wheel drive, use it so as not to make the road worse.
April 22 · Jen UsingerLoved this place. So beautiful and peaceful. Large lots, fire rings, paths to restroom. Covered picnic tables. Trash receptacle and fresh water. Hope to stay longer next time. Road in was an adventure with different views the whole way.
December 26 · Lorie KimbleAlways a great place to camp. Except over easter this year. The camp host was not there and a few families took advantage of that and were very disrespectful. Otherwise, beautiful.
April 05 · KennyLike this campground, always a space. Very large and private campsites. Easy access to the Gila River. Great launch point for first time river kayaking. Still pretty hot in mid September, nights cool down, needing thin blanket by morning in my tent.
