What is worth choosing
Riverstone Campground is a compelling choice for those in Tennessee who are looking for a peaceful and spacious camping experience. The primary reason to choose this campground is its serene riverside location and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere it provides. Campers appreciate that the sites are not crowded, allowing for a sense of privacy and "a little extra room" that is often hard to find at other popular spots in the area. The management is noted for being "very friendly and accommodating," which adds a personal touch to your stay. For RVers, the fact that "all sites are full hookup" is a significant convenience, making for a hassle-free setup.
While some reviews highlight areas for improvement, such as maintenance on fire rings and picnic tables, and a lack of amenities for children, it's important to understand the target audience for this location. It is best suited for adults and families with older children who are seeking a tranquil escape focused on nature rather than a highly amenitized resort. The beautiful river is the main attraction, and for those who enjoy the sound of flowing water and the simplicity of nature, this is a perfect spot. The prices are considered "more than reasonable," with a slight premium for the prime riverfront spots, which many find to be well worth the cost. For those who value peace, space, and a beautiful natural setting over extensive amenities and manicured facilities, Riverstone Campground offers a unique and valuable experience that sets it apart from the more crowded options nearby. Its veteran-owned status is also a point of pride for many local patrons.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1During the week, it was quiet and relaxing right on the river front. Small campground with separate tent area. Manager very friendly and accommodating. All sites are full hookup. Most riverfront sites are smaller and won't allow for big rigs. There are sites that will. This campground does not have amenities for children except the river. It's a lovely spot if you like a little extra room. You're not packed in like sardines like the other campgrounds in the area. Prices are more than reasonable, you pay a bit more to be on the riverfront. It's close to all the town attractions.
June 17 · Fiona VaughanWe are road tripping and staying somewhere new every night, we have met several nice people at campgrounds and this one was unfortunately the worst. The place was completely empty (except for some people that seem to be living in the tent area which was a little unsettling but the guy was nice) and we were tenting. Instead of accommodating us they still wanted to charge us the RV price to stay in our own tent in an RV spot, even if we weren’t using power. Other campgrounds that are completely vacant have been more than welcoming and accommodating. The fire rings were completely filled with thick wet mud and ashes to the brim, we had to clean our own out which was pounds and pounds of that stuff to even start a fire. The tenting is shoved in the back corner, very crowded close spots if you are looking for space between this wouldn’t be the spot for you. The campground has done zero maintenance it seems on its campsites, and the bathrooms were not clean. Just an overall disappointing experience. We sadly see why no one was staying there when all the other campgrounds were full. There is no lights on the sign to see at night trying to find the place. Picnic tables were falling apart. The river was beautiful though I must say. The water flowing down was very very loud but that was okay with us, if you are looking for quiet I wouldn’t suggest that spot for tenting.Overall will not return. The owner or manager should put forth more care for their establishment.
December 30 · Cassie RoseLet me start by saying, the office staff was very very nice! We have a 26 foot 5th wheel. My husband and I stayed at site#18. It was very nice to hear the waterfall, the water was crystal clear, site had plenty of room. It was very quiet, peaceful and very enjoyable. However, a few opportunities for the owner, the picnic tables are very very old, frankly should be replaced. We didn't even use ours as we were afraid they would break or get splinters. The other big issue was the signage is not lite up at night, so it was very difficult to find the driveway at night. It's very dark!We would definitely return but it would be nice to see a bit more upgrades.
October 18 · Katherine OrangeMiss Christine is absolutely amazing and was more than gracious. Great location on the river at the base of the entrance to national park.
March 07 · Sean O'TooleI would like to start off by saying the camp manager was very nice and that the problems are not her fault. I have stayed here in the past and it has continued to go down hill each stay. This time we stayed in what is the best spot in the camp and it was horrible. It was torn up with a track hoe which was still setting there. Camp spot was very dirty and uneven, hard to walk on. People walking through the camp spot all the time. No cable, Wi-Fi spotty at best and the shower/bathroom is very old, and nasty. Would not recommend staying here.
