Riggins itself is a charming town nestled in a deep canyon at the confluence of the Salmon River and the Little Salmon River. Access to Riverside RV Park is straightforward, located right off Main Street (US-95), Idaho's primary north-south highway. This excellent accessibility means that getting to the park is convenient for RVs of all sizes, eliminating the challenges often associated with navigating remote or unpaved roads. Riverside RV Park is designed to offer a comfortable and convenient stay for RVers, focusing on essential amenities that enhance the camping experience. The park's services reflect its commitment to providing a seamless and enjoyable visit.
Full Hookup Sites: All sites at Riverside RV Park come with full hookups, which typically include water, electricity, and sewer connections. This is a significant convenience for RV owners, ensuring a self-contained and comfortable stay without the need for frequent trips to dump stations or water fill-ups.
Excellent Wi-Fi: Reliable and strong Wi-Fi is a highlight mentioned by visitors. This service allows campers to stay connected, whether for leisure, work, or planning their next adventure in the Riggins area.
Clean and Quiet Environment: The park is consistently praised for its cleanliness and quiet atmosphere. This dedication to maintaining a peaceful setting is crucial for campers seeking relaxation and a break from noise.
Owners on Site / Exceptional Hospitality: Guests frequently commend the owners for their friendliness and willingness to go "out of their way" to ensure a positive stay. This personal touch and commitment to hospitality significantly enhance the overall experience.
Riverfront Access (Direct/Immediate): While the incline to the river may require caution, the park offers immediate and direct access to the Salmon River. This is ideal for those who enjoy fishing, watching the river flow, or simply being close to the water.
Shade and Cooler Temperatures: Being directly by the river helps to mitigate the heat, with reviews noting temperatures can be significantly cooler than inland areas, providing a more comfortable experience during Idaho's warm summers.
Pet-Friendly: While not explicitly stated in the provided text, many RV parks in Idaho are pet-friendly, and a quiet park setting often welcomes well-behaved pets, contributing to a holistic family camping trip.
Adult-Oriented / Caution with Small Children: It is noted that due to the steep incline to the river and limited fencing, intense supervision is required for small children. This suggests the park is perhaps more suited for adults or families with older children where this concern is less prominent, catering to a clientele seeking a quieter atmosphere.
Self-Contained Requirement: The park requires RVs to be self-contained, meaning they must have their own toilet facilities. This aligns with the lack of public restrooms on-site, contributing to the quiet, independent nature of the park.
Riverside RV Park stands out for several key features and highlights that contribute to its appeal as a premier RV destination in Idaho.
Prime Salmon River Frontage: The most significant highlight is its direct location on the Salmon River. This offers unparalleled views, direct access for fishing (where permitted), and the constant, soothing sound of rushing water, creating a truly immersive natural experience.
Exceptional Customer Service: The consistent praise for the park owners and their dedication to guest satisfaction is a major feature. Friendly, helpful, and welcoming hosts can transform a good stay into a great one, fostering a sense of community and care.
Tranquil and Quiet Atmosphere: Unlike some larger, bustling RV resorts, Riverside RV Park offers a genuinely quiet and peaceful environment. This makes it ideal for those looking to relax, read, or simply enjoy the sounds of nature without excessive noise or crowds.
High-Quality Utilities and Connectivity: The reliable full hookups and excellent Wi-Fi signal are practical highlights that cater to the modern RVer's needs, allowing for both comfort and connectivity in a scenic setting.
Cooler Microclimate: The riverside location helps create a microclimate that is noticeably cooler during hot Idaho summers. This natural air conditioning by the water's edge provides welcome relief and enhances comfort, especially during peak season.
Convenience to Riggins Town: Despite its serene setting, the park's location within Riggins means easy access to local amenities, including restaurants, shops, and outfitters for whitewater rafting or fishing excursions, blending convenience with natural beauty.
Ideal for Adult Getaways: While families are welcome, the nature of the park with its river access and requirement for self-contained units, coupled with the noted need for intense supervision for small children, positions it as an excellent choice for couples or individuals seeking a more mature and peaceful retreat.

May 12, 2025 · Roger WilsonWe loved staying here for two nights the first part of July. The heat was bad but being by the river made it 10 degrees cooler. Wonderful host. Very clean and quiet. Great full hookups and WiFi. The sound of the river was calming and relaxing.Because of the steep incline to the river and limited fencing I would be cautious of bringing small children here or be prepared for intense supervision. No toilets… must be self contained.Would 100% visit here again.
Jul 14, 2024 · Calene SaltmarshWe had a wonderful stay at the Riverside RV Park. Bob was amazing and so welcoming. He helped us out with our hook-ups and was friendly every single morning. This is definitely a choice spot next to the river and kept so clean. We love that it was close to the store, gas station and a couple of great restaurants that we were able to try.We hope to return again for our off-road adventures. Thanks again!Patricia & Dave
Oct 18, 2023 · Patricia ChambersBeautiful full hookup sites on the river. Very clean. Very relaxing. Many campgrounds use pictures in the website that don’t tell the true story. This one was exactly what you get- beautiful.
May 08, 2024 · G. MartinWe l.o.v.e. this spot. Bob, the owner, is so kind and accommodating! We only meant to stay three nights but ended up staying 6! You can walk into town. And drive to many of the hells canyon overviews. We got back one day from adventuring to find grape tomatoes from Bob's garden on our picnic table! Definitely stay here if you're in the area!
